Chris were you runnin g on softer or harder terrain than usual ? I have a similar problem that has slowly slowly been getting marginally worse with my right heel. This weekend I ran for the first time with those gel heel cups. Today it feels like they helped a little. Today am going the full monty with the full implants in the work shoes as well. They feel really nice. The heel still hurts but its not as uncomfortable with every step. I have been doing some stretching as well so will see how it goes....

It felt a little "twinge-y" at first.  Then it nearly stopped me in my tracks. After some walking I was able to return to a slow jog and eventually finished the run at a slow run.

Matt - I didn't want to break out the "PF" talk, but it may well be that.  Pain starts at the outside of the foot, forward of the heel. Not quite in the arch, but in line with it.  I have been pretty terrible about stretching lately, so it does make sense.

Sounds more like Posterior Tibialis Tendonitis than PF. The PT is the same for both though. Do the alphabet excesise aka draw each letter of the alphabet in the air with you foot. there is also the towel squish where you wad up a dish towel with your toes. The PTT took less time to heal then the PF!.

Are they also cracked ? I have 2 of those too and not looking forward to how that ends. My feet are a mess.

There was a pretty amazing pic of Crowie's feet in his book after he broke the Kona course record.

Also, when media were filming the 7 Ultras 7 Days 7 Continents guys at my house in LA, they did close ups of their feet. EEEEWWWW! I say that with kind of a gleeful fascination.

Hm ... do I need a Nutella sandwich ... or a Vegemite sandwich with a soft-boiled egg ... actually what I really need is some vegetable matter ... I wish I had a nice hearty veggie soup around ... I could order one from McDonald's ... decisions, decisions. Or I could saute up some onions and garlic with garbanzo beans and tomatoes.

OK now I am hungry and have just realized how little I have eaten in the past 4 days or so. Time to find food!!!

My stupid binding on my snowboard kept sticking so I had to keep slapping it and now I have a big bruise on my right palm (there goes half my sex life) and my only real fall of the day was off of the ski lift trying to avoid someone I fell butt first on hard packed snow.

Hahaha - nice. It was a fun weekend!

BTW, it is 24 degrees outside and the heat in my office is NOT working. When do I just walk out and go home?
