It was raining a wee bit: again...nice picture Neal! and by the sign of the guy in the background your wee bit of rain is a downpour! so how was racing on those wet roads? its one thing to ride them but to race them...makes me very askeeeard! yes, I used to be a downhill mtn bike racer...but asphalt is just down right hard and unforgiving! |

Or did I miss that in the last 12 pages I just read through? Anywho, leftover salmon for me. Good call. How negligent of us. It was ham and turkey sandwiches with colby jack cheese on deli rolls with strawberries and raspberries here. 200th post toppage! drumrooollllllllllllllllllll! nice job Tom! 200 down and infinity to go! and really good job on beating Neal to this spot! soooo, now the question is did he carry on for the next topPage...guess I will have to read on to see! |

And thank you for inspiring me to make salmon at some point this week. I find it incredible that both of my kids actually enjoy it, because it took me until my early 20's to like salmon. salmon is a staple in our house! I eat it a few times a week. Cant believe you would not like it til 20~ there are only a few foods I despise! and even as a kid there was not much that I hated to eat....but these are a few of the foods that I have never been able to eat: liver lima beans not big on sauer kraut and hated haggis when I tried it recently |

It's ok for us. You live by yourself (I think) and need some company and I spend most of my time with a baby who's language I barely understand. We are both cleared to talk to ourselves on the internet as much as we want! ohhhh that is soooo different...you are talking to your baby...and OH my I feel for anyone around me when I would do so to mine! I would oooooh....ahhhhhh....stand on my head....make silly faces.....I love kids! and nothing better then making babies giggle! just cracks me up when they start laughing! so carry on.... and talking to your self can be ok...and semi-healthy...its when you answer back...that I get a bit concerned! |

I'm going to try and actually go to bed at a decent hour tonight. Wish me luck! hope you had lots of good zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz time! did you make it to bed early as planned?? 11:30 - only a half hour off the mark. Still slept pretty good though. good deal! now tonight you go to bed a little earlier to make up for your late comings last night! and another nites good rest is an order! stay away from the caffeine...that will help some...and no tv in your bedroom...supposed to keep your mind stimulated even while sleeping as is your alarm clock lights that beam at you...I just saw on that doctors show that a red light is the only color you should have in your room...and to think I always thought the red light was to be used outside the home to let you know who was inside waiting with a goodies package.... and seriously they did say the green color lights, blue lights and white lights that you find on most alarm clocks and radios next to your beds are not good for you...but the red color light is!!!! and to think someone actually did a focus study on this....next time will they pay me to talk about sleeping!!! Oh that is good news...the numbers on my alarm clock are red! I have an alarm clock that has super cool dimming lights. I usually turn it completely out while I sleep. It's wonderful until I go out of town and the light from their alarm clock keeps me awake. LOL.
isnt that the truth! it is like they have a spotlight on the ones in the hotels! I try turning them towards the walls have even given up my precious pillows to cover the clock! |

I'm very excited because this has been a goal of mine for a while now, but I'm nervous because my longest recorded run so far is about 6.5 miles. At least this will give me a good excuse to KEEP TRAINING over the holidays. I'm still eating copious amounts of candied yams at Thanksgiving though. Avoiding those would be sacrilege. you will do fine!!!! I promise you! Dont know the course and if it is hilly or not...but just keep doing what your doing....did you start the Hal Higden HM plan? let me know if you need a link! I find he really helped me to get ready. You are soooo gonna be ready by the end of January! CONGRATS FOR SIGNING UP!!!! |

I'll say!!!! ready to head for the hills! Im needing that adrenaline rush about now!!! but I want to drive to the top! then ride down! Katie needs to practice running hills. You could get her to push you up to the top then you could ride down. That's a win-win situation right there! Edited by aspeelma 2009-10-15 12:24 PM |

Nope, can't avoid those. That would be BAD. Congratulations on the sign up. Way to go! You are going to love it. I did my first half mary last spring. I had never run more than 3 miles or so before hand. On runs longer than 5 miles, I found that if I map it out and then just go, stop thinking about how far I've gone, or how long it's been...just get into a rhythm and go. I found I really love the runs that are around 6 miles or so. (My family thinks I've lost it.)
x2 on the just go and run...not mapping it out...and x100 on the family thinks Im crazy cuz I actually like love to run, now! |

Keep us in you thoughts. I hope they can give me some insight as to why he had such a horrible flare (it was seriously 3 weeks long). Either way he's doing better now, and continues to get better with each passing day. I know I had asthma when I lived in a house that had some mold issues! I am no longer having to use an inhaler...but remember how awful it was when my throat became restricted and I felt as though someone was sitting on my chest! hope he gets better! Is your house been tested for mold? I know it is the rainy season...and this is when it is at its worst! thank god I moved from that home when we found out...but sure took a toll on me!!! good luck...and he and you will be in my thoughts and prayers today!!! keep us posted to what they say! |

I need to follow your example and actually pick a race! We are at about the same place...my longest run is about 6 miles. I have started the HH novice plan, but have yet to pick a race RNR half in January, Tempe AZ I forget the name of it but a half in VA beach the end of March RNR half in April, Nashville TN, I think I'm taking the kids to that one so they can do the kids mile run the day before. I workout much more regularly when I have a goal so I picked some things to get me through the winter. I'll still be biking and swimming, just not as much until after the race in January. I need to pick my triathlons for the summer soon. RnR AZ is on the same day as Carlsbad! We'll have to keep eachother motivated. I've never had good luck keeping in shape over the holidays, so a little bit of peer pressure would help a lot! |

I am going to try some stretches tonight and see if that loosens it up but if this keeps up I am probably going to bail because I don't want it getting worst. So what I need is some good healing vibes/prayers/thoughts (whatever you have I will take right now!) and I am going to see if pool time and stretch time works this thing out. That means no biking for the weekend at least - hope that it goes away because I want to do my Grand Canyon tour next month big time!
is the earliest you can get in to see a doctor is the 30th? I see the chiro Monday and am taking it off until then. He will have a good idea - he is a runner also. So if he clears me up I might bag the sports doctor. So I am taking off 4 of my runs in the challenge because that is what I had scheduled until Monday. Hopefully back at it Tuesday with his blessing (or Monday night!) I think you are being smart taking it off!!! hows it feeling today? you icing it or taking advil like Doc Julie prescribed!? |
