Good morning team! Hubby comes home late tonight...can't wait! Not sure what is on tap for today, training wise. Old Navy is having a sale so I am heading there with some friends. My neck is still really stiff, wondering if it is my new pillow...I sure hope not I spent too much $ on it! It is one of the memory foam ones.

Kim, I don't have a memory foam pillow, but we did get a memory foam bed about 5 years ago.  I remember when we got the mattress, they told us that to give it at least a month.  It could take the body that long to adjust to it or something?  But man, once it did I was in heaven!  I can't sleep at all in a regular bed without being crippled the next morning.  Maybe the pillows are the same way?

Wow!  A memory foam mattress sounds like it was feel REALLY good!

Believe me...  I think it is pure heaven!  Laughing

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-16 11:15 AM Back from my ride and it went great - no flat (the streak ended at 2 in a row but that is 8 for the year I think ) and I got to play on the dirt all by myself.  I got a wee bit wet but all is well - happened before and I am sure it will happen again!

I think Bill is returning to normal - watch out - LOL!

I remember when I was younger, I used to love being out in the rain...  I think you are on the right track, Bill.  I need to adjust my attitude and  re-learn how to embrace the rain - and not let it derail my mood and my training!

wgraves7582 - 2010-04-16 8:19 AM Just a quick drive by this morning.  Our office is closed because they have a tax year end party and they don't want to make everyone come in hungover - LOL

So I got up with my daughter, saw her off to school, and promptly fell back to sleep for 2 more hours.

Going to fuel up and head out on the bike I think.  Time to clear some cobwebs from my head and body!

"A" Team have a great day and I will see you sometime this weekend around here!

Have a nice ride!  That's pretty sweet you guys get the day off!

Great ride.  Yes they throw a huge party because they all worked so hard for 2 months.  I remember construction years where I worked sunup to sundown 8 months a year and barely got a thank you

I enjoy it because I don't drink and get to have a normal day off while all the others are moaning and groaning with a hangover.

Oh the rain won our race home - LOL

I go for periods of months sometimes without drinking, and it just feels so much better!  Which kind of annoying because I like to drink Tongue out

It's weird, I've never gotten caught in the rain while riding!  Though I guess I don't really ride outside unless it's nice out, and have been lucky rain hasn't come unexpectedly.

Went to the gym as planned.  Played racquetball as planned.  After RB, went to the pool as planned.  Finished the first two laps as planned.  Fire alarm went off as UNplanned.  Decided to pack it in after that.

We have a memory foam mattress and my wife and I agree that it's the best investment we ever made.  And it honestly didn't take any time at all to get used to it.  It's sooooooo comfortable.  Now I want to go home and go back to bed!

My mom has a temperpedic mattress...I sleep very well on it, but it is hard to get in and out of.  It absorbs all your movements, feels very sluggish and cumbersome...when you try to get up you just sink in furthur.  I wouldn't suggest it for anything besides sleeping.

TElenor - 2010-04-15 3:15 PM Hi everyone,

Wow are there ever a lot of posts!  Not sure if I'll ever get caught up.

A bit of unfortunate news: I had a run-in with my ski pole this past Sunday while backcountry skiing.  Sadly the ski pole won and I had to go into an ENT doc this morning to get my broken nose straightened.  The verdict: no exercise for a week, and only moderate exercise for the following several weeks while the bones set.  So....looks like my April Challenge goals are right out of the window!  Didn't I see something about getting removed from the challenge due to injury?  Seeing as how I'm only part way through my goals it would probably be best...

At least it was just my nose, and not my eye!  At least it isn't right in the middle of race season!  These are the things I keep telling myself...

Hope the rest of you are staying healthy!

Sorry to hear about your accident.  It doesn't sound like fun. The worst part for me would be not exercising.

kimk - 2010-04-13 10:33 PM For once I am glad we were not tooo chatty! I am whiped out...off to bed I go, tomorrow is another long day with cycle, body pump, yoga and a water class, I will also get my swim in, then I am meeting up with a friend at the LBS while she gets her fit. should be a good time. Sweet dreams A team!

Ugh!  I still need to get my bike into the LBS for a tuneup and to get my gear shifter fixed.  I keep putting it off because it'll be a few days that I won't be able to get my drainer ride in.  I'm quite the procrastinator!

sounds like Bill needs a good kick in the arse!

Understatement of the century! Embarassed  Come hell or high water, I'm getting that bike to the LBS on Saturday!

Took my bike out last night and I guess it didn't like the wet ride we took the other day.  Time for a trip to the LBS for us too.

Didn't think about that aspect.  That would be interesting going back to work in your swim suit and a towel.

I dropped off my taxes last night.  I wanted to hold on to my money as long as I could. I drive away and go around the corner and notice the check for my taxes is still sitting on the seat next to me!  Ahhhhhh!  Back to the post office.  They let me find the envelope, but wouldn't let me open it and put the check in it. So why did I just waste my time looking for the envelope? Bought an envelope and dropped the check in the mail with my SSN. I hope they find each other at the IRS.

Got an extra workout in this morning.  Locked my keys in the truck when I went to get something out of the house. Ended up riding my bike to school to get the extra key from my son.

Besides the gym, our YMCA is also has a residence for low-income men.  The fire alarms go off all too frequently... probably once or twice a month... because somebody left their bagel in the toaster oven too long or someone was trying to sneak a smoke in their room.  I got out of the pool, went into the locker room and quickly changed back into my clothes and went back to work.  I smell like chlorine, but oh well.  It's beautiful outside and my boss is out today, so I think I'm going to call it a day.  Have a great weekend everyone!

So I go to a new chiro today hoping to get a quick tune up before my half mary tomorrow.  No insurance cards. They were in my wallet that disappeared last week.  So was my "benefits" card that works like a credit card that we can use to pay medical bills. So in the end, no adjustment, big bill, they want me to cut my miles in half and I get to go back Monday. When I told them my mileage, you would have thought that I told them I am running around the world.  There are a LOT of people who run more miles then I do. Besides, its not the running that is giving me problems, its the sitting at my desk all day that makes me stiff and sore. I guess I'll see what next week brings.
Oh, and I'm not skipping the race in the morning.

So we had a bbq for lunch today at work.  I was supposed to bring potato salad and didn't have time to make some up last night. I swing by wally world to pick some up on the way in. Silly me not being careful bump my head on the covering over the shopping cart return and cut my head while going for a cart. So then I'm in the store trying to wash the cut and clean the blood out of my hair in the shallow "trough" they have for a sink in the bathroom. I was just hoping that a store employee didn't walk in and see me and make me fill out a bunch of reports and call the ambulance. It was just a scrape and everything is fine.  Just a pain. I hope I don't absentmindedly scratch my head while thinking over a problem today.

So all this before 10:30 and I'm still smiling. Usually things would be wearing on me at this point. Then I got some sad news. A guy that I used to work with wasn't feeling well Monday. He went to the doctor and they checked him into the hospital. Then they transferred him to another hospital. This morning he passed away. I haven't heard any details but it is sad. He has a wonderful wife and is one of the nicest people you would ever meet.
So here is my thought for the day. No matter what is happening in your life, smile and be happy because it could be worse. You never know when someone you care about will be taken. If there is someone that has been on your mind recently, take the time to reach out and say "Hi." Take the time to mend bridges or be a little more patient with those who may be difficult to get along with, especially if it is family. Try to always be kind in what you do and say. Those words you just spoke could be the last ones you share with that person. They may even be the last words that person ever hears. Imagine what the world would be like if everyone acted like this. If nothing else, you will be happier for making the effort.
