Meant to be going to drinks tonight for a leaving function then seeing S and I just want to go home and lie flat on my back with heat!

I read this quickly and thought it said something about drinks and then S brining the heat while Cat was laying flat on her back.  I had to read it twice more to make sure that Cat hadn't already had a few when she posted it.  Tongue out

That little episode just about sums up my week!

That was too funny.

Hope everyone had a happy and safe halloween!

Happy November...only 3 more paydays til Christmas....AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHKKKKK!!!

Glad the new shoes are working out for you!

I used to run in Brooks.. loved them! I have wide feet (for a chick) so only a few brands work for me..

Now I have neutral shoes because of my orthotics and are in Nikes... didnt think I would ever end up back in them but the pair I have (and have had for almost a year... probably time for new ones) have got me back into running without any dramas and everything so they are great.... wish Id got a second pair of them as they are now last years model!

I've tried out many, Brooks, ASICS, Saucony, Mizuno but I'm liking Nike Lunar Glide+ I've got a few pair in different colors.

The guy at the running store had me try on a pair of Mizunos.  There was something so weird about them.  The outside of my foot up by my toes was killing me before I could get off of the treadmill and get them off (only had them on for 4 or 5 minutes).  It was the weirdest thing.   Also, he took video of me running...then put it on the big screen in the store...glad I was the only person in there (even thought it was only the backs of my legs and feet from the knee down)!  I felt like I had run 5 miles before we finally decided on a pair.

Hiya all!  I'm back and married now so training can resume.  I haven't had a chance to read anyone's logs and I'm still drying out from my daily margarita and yummy food overload but I'll be getting back into the swing of things tomorrow.  I only have 34 weeks until the New York City Tri - egads!

That also means that I'm ready to get serious about losing weight too so you better be ready Cat.  I'm gonna harass you until you are ready for that romantic friendly weekend in a few weeks!  We've got to have you ready for a good time!

Sulcus - congrats on the wedding

Cat - welcome back!

Losta - where did you go?  Haven't seen anything from you in awhile...hope all is well!!

Marathon training is going pretty well.  We did out 14 mile run this week.  So thankful for a rest week (only 8 mile long run) this week.  Then it's on to two 16 mile runs in a row...ouch.  Any ideas as to why you can run 14 miles and not eat that bad and still gain 3 pounds.      ....and if anyone says it is muscle and that it weighs more than fat, I'll scream!!!

Crews - Well, you've been putting in alot of work and muscle does weigh more than fat.  Tongue out  Hee hee - couldn't resist.  Actually, some of it is probably water retention from pushing yourself a bit as well.

Cat - I am so glad that the weekend went well, though I think you need to bring along your whole mentor group next time.  I promise none of us will get in the way.

Losta - welcome back!

Bah, once you get moving, you won't even notice the frost bite!  :P

If it's a health issue, then it has to be your call.  If it's a wimping out issue because it might be hard then don't be like me and not do it.  You can do the distance, you can survice and you will do well.  As an added bonus, you can head home afterwards and totally justify lots of warm sugary treats!  Even if they're storebought, you can nuke them a bit and say that you need their warmth, along with some hot chocolate, gingerbread coffee or other beverage of your choice.

Hrm - maybe that attitude is why I can't lose any weight...

Sometimes i think its impossible to loose weight in my office when you are a person with NO self control...

Its 11:30am and so far we have had:
- 1 baby shower
- 2 birthday cakes

And I have a lunch meeting thing at which pizza will be provided!

Ok... its not like this everyday but... free food isnt as uncommon as I would expect it to be

It was 28F this morning. I went outside and started wheezing. And I wasn't even running. So I will probably skip it, unless the weather warms up some. (I'm still hoping it'll do that.)

But there's a PANCAKE BREAKFAST after the event. Pancakes, bagels, muffins, etc. I don't know how warm they'll be, but it'll definitely be a carb loading session. LOL

Eh, we'll see what happens. Maybe it'll warm up enough that I can do it....

Well that would eliminate cakes!

What about the pizza?
