Spokes--you really, really, really have that Michael J Fox thing going for you, except that the DELECTABLE musculature recommends you MUCH more highly to the female species.

It is possible I could pull myself off Hector's legs and Donto's torso to drape myself onto you from time to time ...

Not at all, Donto. I take beautiful men very seriously.

Actually, I take men who train seriously very seriously. All of you (and all of us women) on this thread deserve this delightful reinforcement!!!

Seriously, the Challenge game has sure changed these days!    With Lyssa, Cat, Dee, Beth, and Yanti posting more than 50% of the (thousand daily) messages in all threads combined, and nearly-naked photos of people showing up in mostly ONE thread, everyone's flocking there, or asking for the same hot pix to be reposted in other threads.  Is anyone actually checking up on teammates or talking about triathlon training (in fact, does anyone want to any more?)?   And are y'all actually spending 5 or 6 hours a day online?  AAK!

Don't get me wrong, I really love the chatter, obviously, I'm here reading it, but I feel bad that I can't check up on friends' training schedules via one team thread any more!  Maybe Challenge needs a Wednesdaily (and a Thursdaily etc) thread so that we all can post hot sexy pix for everyone to see more easily, and to consolidate some of the convo.  Or maybe just a formal "who can post most" or "who has the hottest pix" Challenge (no, I am NOT going to organize it ... I think Beth may be best for those.    ).

I heard that in order to join this team you had to post a pix, can I join!?!?! I have one goal for November, to work on the core. 15 Core workouts this month is a must and I hope to get some inspires to beat me down into doing them all! Tongue out

You all are partying like Rockstars (I so sick of that phrase!!!). I tried reviewing all 44 pages but man I have work to do After 14 I jumped to 42, did I miss anything in the middle???

I must say it is most unfair of you to have posted that pic while we are at work. Do you seriously expect us to get ANYTHING done now???

I'm just hoping to not get hauled down to HR for blogging with these pics... of course, most of HR is female, so I should be safe.........

After a tri...

Last spring.... the running has made a bit more cut since...

THAT'S what I'm talkin' about!!!! NICE!

Rassmussen? You're WAY better looking that Rassmussen!!

Shoot. The office is closed!

Hehe. Thanks. And I'm not full of illegal additives. I have a friend that was going to dress as a cyclist for Halloween in her office; I suggested she tape some syringes to her jersey since they're all a bunch of dopers LOL

I was actually pretty upset when he left the tour and nobody sounded surprised except for gullible ole me.  I was a fan the first year he earned the polka dot jersey.  It was my first year watching the tour and I was SO impressed by the King of the Mountain.  Still am.  I'm naive though.  I just figured with all the testing, athletes would be too smart to try to cheat.  I believed Floyd too.   It bothers me that it's not about the win or the effort involved to get there, but then again I don't have the cheaters mindframe.  I live in the country on a little farm removed from all the bad stuff of the world that goes on.  Sad to say, but I like it here in my own world and my head buried in the sand....

Dang, I think we got spanked! Then again, it is Gail's job (at least in the Corps #8) to make sure everyone's included and in line ...

Strangely enough, we do post about training from time to time ... and most of the folks on the "party" threads requested to be in LIVELY threads. Although given the volume (esp. in this thread!!!) maybe next challenge there also needs to be the option for "chatty" team, and then one for "way beyond chatty whackadoodle" team.

Who says we don't talk about training....

You know, I'm talking more than ever this month, but I'm also working harder than ever.  I feel like it's a month to work hard, play hard and have a little fun. (and oogle guys) I love being in a challenge this month where I don't have to worry about letting my team down.  I'm accountable for myself, but I have this AWESOME team support (and pictures)   So what I spend 6 hours on the computer?  I'm sitting at my desk pretending to work anyway. May as well have a little fun!

No, No spanking ... just curious how/why this happened and wondering if there's a more sensible place for it than in the Challenges.  Maybe the answer is no -- I'm just wondering.

As for Floyd, met him recently and found him very very nice.

Oh, and we love having you on this team, too. You've got a great attitude.

Team Twisnibbins is AWESOME! We've got a great group here.

I would  post more about my training, but its pretty boring...

"Um, I ran 5/9/some ridiculous long distance today" and listened to thrash metal. That's pretty much what I've been doing most of this year, aside from cycling now and then. Don't ask me about the pool. I was reading the time limits for 1/2s and Fulls and getting depressed. There's no way I'll ever be a good enough swimmer to finish a HIM or IM within the swim time limits. It takes me almost an hour to swim 1500 meters as it is now, even when I'm 'in practice'. Although I'm tempted on Friday, my day off, to go up to the Folsom swim center and see how badly out of shape I am for swimming... just for sh!ts and giggles.

If I knew how my divorce trial was going to come out on April 7th, I'd consider registering for the Auburn Int'l Duathlon long course in May... but its $165 ahead of time. That's a LOT of shorter run/du/tri races... OTOH, I'm always going to suck at anything with a 10K or shorter run as part of it. I don't have the speed to do well.

My swim times are painfully slow as well, but I keep doing the drills and plugging away in the water and I KNOW that I'll be ready for my Ironman in 2010 as scheduled.  I have no solid evidence of this, but hard work and faith will get me there.  And it can get you there too.

But Gail, we're always happy to talk about tri training, too! So tell us -- How is your training going? You have, if I recall correctly, three goals in the November Challenge. How are you doing with them? Are you meeting all 3 of them?

As for your organizing a challenge, I think that's a GREAT idea. From what I've seen, it looks like the challenge organizer sets the guidelines. So you could make the challenge anything that you want....

That said, Cat and Donto are setting up the Swim Challenge next month. (And I am so excited about that one!) So maybe you could organize a challenge for January. Actually, if you want to do this, I could even add it to your November goals. Something like "Come up with a January challenge idea." That would be a good goal.

We have over 100 people participating in this month's challenge, so the challenges are REALLY popular. And I'm pretty sure that Cat doesn't want to organize them all. LOL

Welcome to the world of challenge organizing! It's a lot of work, but it's been a lot of fun, too.

Dee

Dang, I think we got spanked!

I felt spanked also but I'm a salty sailor and I ignore what doesn't work for me. Let me say this much also, this is our thread, our team thread and I'm extremely glad to be a part of it. I've only been here a couple of months and it is through the team challenges that I have come to meet new people and have been given extreme amounts of guidance. For a new individual to be helped so much and aimed in the right direction means a whole lot in my book. I make it a point to check on all the members logs and try to give inspires as so many have done for me. As a matter of fact I am unhappy if I miss a workout because I feel I am letting my self down as well as my team. It's through this forum that drives me to excell in my workouts even more. I have not been as commited as i am now and I know that BT involvement has played a major part of that.

Yes this is one crazy thread and we knew it would be from the get go. I for one trully enjoy it and that is why so many join in on the fun because it makes so many of us feel good. We make each other feel good here, we uplift and yes we definately motivate each other. Maybe that's why this thread has become so popular and dynamic. I personnaly thank our captain (beth) and our organizer (Dee) for creating such a great environment. Because of them it has becomes everyone team thread, way to go ladies!

Go team!

Does it bum everyone else here who is American - that we can't find a corporation in this country to pony up $20 million a year to sponsor a world-class cycling team with the best Americans, but can have a f*cking GOLF tournament sponsored every weekend with purses larger than that? Golf, which is not even a sport, but a skill?

I guess I shouldn't complain too much as Ford does sponsor Ironman events, but still...

Marketing and $$$.

1) Find someone who can market cycling to the general public.
2) Show the companies that the public wants to watch, and will therefore watch their advertising.
3) Then companies will start to put $$$ into sponsoring cycling.

I agree with your comments about golf. I mean, can you get any SLOWER?

Actually, I'm pretty sure I posted a couple times about not Challenging this month, so I don't have any official BT goals.  I just like to check in once in a while, and I have been surprised to see so much interesting convo about so many different topics here on team challenges -- if the topics were posted instead as sep. threads I suspect tons more people would want to participate, but I also understand that people like the team/club/small-group nature of what's going on here. Again, don't get me wrong; I'm not complaining or criticising ... just curious about the nature of human behavior, especially because this new ChattyChallenge thing seems to have just started.

I'm not in the right situation to organize challenges, but I love that you guys continue to do so with such enthusiasm, and that you love to do it.  Keep it up!!!

Hear, hear. I should clarify that Gail has a long history of spanking me in particular because ... I know you guys will be SHOCKED at this ... I have a tendency to go over the top, in training, in running, in running off at the mouth, etc.

Because of them it has becomes everyone team thread, way to go ladies!

Go team!

Yay, H -- I actually completely agree -- it's become everyone's team thread, that's my point!  Maybe I just should have written, Is there a way for more people to have the same kind of fun without crashing other people's teams (or to make it a little easier/less time consuming for those wonderful girls who are participating in what, 3, 4, 5 team's threads).
