ironannekidd - 2010-01-29 10:43 AM Oh that's right! I'm on FIRE with the toppage today!!!

Going right into the gutter here, but you got toppage on what page of this thread??

69

Ladies it is Friday let's keep it clean in here - Innocent

It is the weekend Bill

Not until after lunch - which I just finished

so TopPage 69 instead of side by side huh?

I like bottompage 69 myself

I'm having this internal debate right now... do I answer this honestly or not, hmmm.

Have you ever not before with us??? - LOL

No, I'm completely honest with you all. This is just a bit more on the uh personal side. Isn't it?

My honest answer though is...

I'm not a fan of it. IMHO you spend too much time concentrating on what your doing and not enough time enjoying what's being done. But hey, whatever works for you!

Sure I can see that - it is fun but not a daily requirement - how is that!

Yes, I agree with that.

wgraves7582 - 2010-01-29 11:42 AM You know what I missed last night - they had a big presentation of the blizzard of '77 that wrecked Buffalo for a while.  I was not here for it when it happened but it would have been cool to listen to the stories.

Oh - Cantorie Stories on The Weather Channel - sundays - shameless plug but this guy is just cool!

My mom still talks about the FLOODING of '72, when the hurricane that I can't remember the name came up through PA.

How much snow did they get with that blizzard?

That is the funny thing - they only got 6-12" of snow but they had about 3' of snow on Lake Erie that got blown into the city with the winds - that is where all the problems came from.

Now I'm going to have to look that up.

ironannekidd - 2010-01-29 3:23 AM Since the new challenge begins on Monday...

Ok, what are your goals?

I would like to lose 10 more pounds total. I can't do that in a month though, I think I can do 5 though.

I am going to lose 5 lbs in February!

I want to be lean and fast for the Pittsburgh HM!

Everyone remember though YOU STILL HAVE TO FEED THE MACHINE!!!!

Let's be smart about this!

I'm shooting for 4 pounds - 1 per week.

What do you think about that idea?

Go for it! As long as they're races you'll have fun with and that you can afford, go and have a blast!

yeah.. I was kidding. I'm planning on Black Bear Oly, which is 3 weeks after the PGH HM. Then a sprint the end of July, another Oly in August, the RNR HM in Virginia Beach the beginning of Sept, and the Marine Corps Marathon in October. Probably a few local 5k's as well.

Here are some recent developments regarding my employment...

I got lied to by the company that hired me concerning paid time off. I am salaried, and was complaining to them the other day about my PTO. They offered me the option to become an hourly employee. On the bad side there are no benefits. I only needed the PTO from them anyway. On the good side they threw in some extra dollars per hour to compensate for not having paid days off. I also asked them if I was getting a yearly raise, they gave me 3%. So now I'm making more money, but I have no benefits, insurance and all that is through my husband.

A friend of mine who works here but on a different contract sent me a few text messages last night asking me work related questions. His company has a position open and they are moving it here. He submitted a proposal to his company to get me on their contract. It would be roughly the same money I'm making now, BUT I would have PTO again, and they give 2 bonuses a year, around $4,000 to $7,000 a pop.

I do not want to work here, it's just a bad place to be, but changing over to his department would definitely be a +. I also see a bonus paying for a new tri bike for me. I still have hope that I will get one of the gs jobs I interviewed for in December. They are still putting out offers, but it is taking forever. I have also learned that several people have turned down offers for whatever reason. The more people that turn down offers the better my chances of getting a job.

You may now continue with your regular scheduled programming.

wgraves7582 - 2010-01-29 12:43 PM So I just went and paid our gas bill at the utility office next door to our building.  There was an older lady that was in front of me and walked up to the counter without being asked.  The clerk asked her to wait a minute (politely) and the lady throws a fit.

I am next and wait and then go up and the clerk says thanks for waiting.  I reply (maybe a little too loudly) that yes some people are more important or something like that and we commence to chatting about the weather and all that good stuff.

I walk out and the lady is out there waiting for me and says do I have something to say to her and mind my own d&mn business.  I say yes I do - have a great weekend and I walk away.  So her and her husband walk away mumbling some junk.  I just laugh and walk back to my office.

Hope I never hate life that much!

Dude you have to be careful in situations like that. You haven't been running lately. You must always think to yourself "If I pi$$ them off can I outrun them?"

Umm NJKim - she was past hormonal stage - she was just a plain old B*tch!

Trust me they would have both been on the ground in about 2 seconds if they had wanted such a thing to occur.  But then again I would never do that to a woman or an older gentleman.  I consider myself a little more edumucated than that

You are a gentleman, that we know.

And I also find it sad that some people go through life so angry.   I don't have the emotional energy for that.  Actually, it's pretty hard to get me mad.  I tend to absorb life's minor slights and offences with no reaction at all.  When the emotional storage container gets full and overflows though, I will over react to whatever minor issue took it over the top.  Making whoever is on the receiving end wonder what the heck just happened.  Fortunately, that is pretty rare.

Morning Ghoulies.  Feb weigh in is this weekend.  I have at least 10 lbs (maybe 12) to get to race weight.  I'm going to go waaaay out on a limb and post a race pic (I'm on the right).  This is what I will be at by April.  Starting with 5 lbs in February.  Grrrrr. Why did I eat like an idiot the last 3 months?????

To make the spring training that much more fun, of course! Seriously, why do we do this to ourselves every year? Darn holiday food...

BTW, great race pic! Lookin good!

Way to go on doing the Oly at Black Bear.  I have some training buddies that may be doing it as well, so I may be a sherpa or a volunteer.
