Sunday will work better. That's awesome! I am game for riding with you all on Sunday. I have a 150 min run and 90 min swim on tap for tomorrow, so a recovery day on Sat., for a 100mile on the wheels on Sunday works out. What time are you planning to roll out and where from? |

Doubled my bike, increased run by 30 miles and swam about twice as far as I did in February. Making good progress, still need to swim a ton more though. |

Includes a Last Long Day and Half IM back to back weekends. Not as much total volume as I'd hoped for but happy with the results overall! |

Jeff - We are departing at 7:30 with the slower group doing 90 - but adding the south loop into the woodlands to cover the whole IMTX 112 tomorrow - we are not adding the inner loop with the 125 mile studs. I plan on being at the parking lot around 7am. Can anyone join in on this coarse ride? I am planning on a Sunday ride now, but just in case things change. If so, where is the starting point for Saturday's ride. |

A recurring pool issue kept me out of the water pretty much all month. That's a definite problem. But it's resolved now and with 5 weeks before taper starts, I'm confident that I can build the endurance to put down a 70-75 minute swim without going too hard. The bike and run were short of my goals because of a minor injury the first week of the month. Even so, I'm extremely pleased with the numbers, since the last 3 1/2 weeks have been rock solid.

I feel your pain. Two weekends ago2.5 hours into planned 4 hour ride ran over old rust razor blade, sliced big hole in rear tire\tube. Carry a spare tube, not a spare tire. Sat on the side of the road waiting for my wife to come rescuse me. It blows for sure. |

Master 2238 Dallas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas Today I tried out the course, I enjoyed it quite a bit, asphalt in great condition and no challenging hills, just a few smooth rollers. If anybody cares to look at the elevation profile, here's a link to my workout: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/76738989 It is pretty and scenic, specially going through the forest section before mile 34. Lot's of people on the course today as well. |

But I was only 1 hr into a 4.5 hour ride. But my wife was working 1 hour south of the house - I was 1 hour north of the house. So I had to start dialing for ride. Amazing how many couch potatoes aren't home on Saturday morning. |

Pro 4174 Keller, Texas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas Great weekend in the Woodlands! Loved the bike course, especially the first half into the tailwind. For the most part the road conditions are great. Just a small (15 mile or so) section of well worn chip seal. Run course is really nice. A lot of it is very shaded, but I can also see that part as being very dark late in the race. I also have to wonder if the canopy of trees will actually act as a ceiling holding in the humidity. But, running along the river was beautiful. |

Master 2238 Dallas | Subject: RE: Ironman Texas Just like Marcy says, the run course is mostly in a canopy, where the air is completely static. Today (keep in mind we're still seven weeks out), the heat was tough and I was sticky from the humidity. So far I've seen a lot of talk about the bike course, but I really don't think it is a challenge at all and the "hills" are a joke, I only think it could be a trap for the ones who love to hammer early on during the races. To me, the real race starts in T2, does anybody agree? |

If the road surface was nt chip seal I probably would not have had to. A big yes about falling into a trap for the first half and going out too hard only to blow up once you hit the headwinds. We also got so lucky with the weather Saturday. The clouds kept the temps down. Cannot count on that on race day. |

Beautiful bike course, rolling and no climbs to speak of. I am really excited about it! Jennifer |

The average water temperature in May is between 74-81 degrees Fahrenheit. Wetsuits are strongly recommended. Think that may be a misprint. I stuck my hand in the water and while it seemed cold it was not freezing. No way will wetsuits be allowed. Plus, isn't the USAT cutoff for wetsuit legal 76? |

WTC Wetsuit Rule: "Wetsuits may be worn in water temperatures up to and including 24.5 degrees Celsius/76.1 degrees Fahrenheit. Athletes who choose to wear a wetsuit in water temperatures exceeding 24.5 degrees C /76.1 degrees F will not be eligible for awards, including World Championship slots. Wetsuits will be prohibited in water temperatures greater than 28.8 degrees C/84 degrees F." As I recall the CB&I held in early May is usually close to the cutoff temp and with the daytime temps already warming up in to the 80's I would not plan on packing a wetsuit....
