Oh yeah....and I will jump on the KATI LOOKS FREAKIN AWESOME in that picture bandwagon!!

Maybe I can look that good......with a face lift and a few less kids!!! LMAO!!!

Yeah, cuz I'm pretty sure you suck at birth control!

Heeeeey...That wasn't very nice!! (waaah, waaah). I think I am doing pretty daggone good....it's been 3 years and 7 months since the last one came along and I haven't been pregnant once!!  So :P

Just so you know Ms. Tammy, that is a quote from my latest movie, not sure if you watched it yet since you didn't make any comments about it!!

And I love your spark for the bike idea, I just don't think it would really fly in OUR area.  I think those bikes would find their way to a pawn shop on Rancier if you know what I mean.  I think if you had a set up near a park where people could ride the bikes, then maybe it would work.  IDK, just thinking....

Tammy, yes, the bike idea is crazy... that's why it's great! It will take a bit of a tidal shift before people are clamoring for it, but it's definitely something we need. As a frequent traveler, I would LOVE to be able to pick up a bike for a few hours in a new city.

And here's a T-shirt for everyone's Christmas list:

This is ME......all the way!! Love, love....LOVE IT!! May even have one made LOL!!

Shawn -  Thanks for the feedback my friend!! I truly appreciate it. I had thought of some of those things as well but it is ALWAYS good to get a 2nd or even 4th opinion!!

Took my bike in for 100 mile tune-up and they found a crack on my frame....said it's in a common spot and typically due to a defect in production.

He's pretty sure it'll be covered under warranty so I told him I'm pretty sure if it's not he can pay it off for me too...

Nonetheless, he says its about a 2-3 week process so looks like the pavement will be my new bestie for the next few weeks.  SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK SUCK :-/

Um, Kati....We need to find you SEVERAL 4 leaf clovers or SOMETHING that indicates and brings GOOD LUCK!! WTF?!!

Good thing you are one tough cookie (apple didn't fall far from the tree at all!) because a normal person would've said SCREW THIS after the first couple of hits (hitting the curb and blowing out TWO rims, lumpectomy etc!!)

Here's to PRAYING that some good luck finds you!! )

Awww thanks Babe....I can admit sometimes I get to the point that I'm like WTF, like seriously. But I just keep trekking.  It'll all work out in the end.  LMAO I SWEAR I had a dream last night that you and Tuck were riding bikes up Nolanville hill and I was driving slower in my car than you two were biking, and you guys were laughing at me....WEIRD!

That is an ODD dream......Beats mine of falling down a dirt filled rabbit hole while the neighbors dog stood above me and LAUGHED!! LMAO!!

I think we ALL get to the point like WTF, why bother....That's why it's FREAKIN OUTSTANDING to have friends who push, pull and drag our azzez back to reality!!

Kati that sucks your bike frame had a crack - but better to find that out early rather than down the road when the warranty expired.  With that few miles on it - it had to be a manufacturing induced failure.  It could have been all that torque you put through the crank......I didn't get much done....they are boarding my plane now....booo......I wish I could stay the night - since I'm in Amsterdam and have lots of friends here!!!!!  Next stop Berlin... Later!

LMAO, I LOVE it!  I kept saying you guys would have a blast!  Endless nights of dancing with German broads sounds fantastic....but you guys are supposed to to "the check"...start dancing with your arms in the air until they follow in suit, and take a quick peek at the armpits bro...nothing like feeling like you're dancing with a man wearing boobs.  Have fun you naughty boys!

That's AWESOME, Wilson! My sister's on her way to Munich as we speak-- she's up to her ears in meetings for a week, but then has several days at Oktoberfest to look forward to! I've told her to have a few litres of beer for me... training by proxy, right? Laughing

So do they serve O'Douls at Oktoberfest??  Hmmmmm, I think not.... Wilson, just for reference... I did 3 years in an Army Band in Germany... our typical job consisted of playing beer tents... nothing on the scale of Oktoberfest, but the same kind of vibe in a small town.  All the free beer we could drink, and free food, sometimes we'd get a tour of someplace in the town.  Nothing like a cold beer at 9 a.m. on a Sunday morning!  Oh, we'd play wine fests too... there were a couple of those I'm not sure how I got home... back in my party days.  I was one of only a few girls in the band, so I was surrounded by "brothers" who kept me safe, ha ha!  Yep, paid to drink beer and travel, that was the life!

Hi everybody!

OK, let's see if this works... some bike pr0n for Hilde, because she's been so VERY good and VERY patient...

[ETA: Drat! Can't seem to figure out how to make the photo show up! Help? Wilson? Hilde?]

No idea if that worked or not, since I can't see it in the post as I type! But the photo's in my album if anyone wants to see it...

Today started off grey and rainy and grumpy (on the part of yours truly), and it's now bright and sunny and accomplished (on the part of yours truly)-- the latter as a result of my having HTFU'd and got the double workout done this morning! Amazing how training can make you feel better about the world, isn't it? Smile

Will try posting this to see if the photo worked-- hope so! (Apologies if it doesn't-- can someone show me how when you get a minute?)

Hope you're all well and enjoying your respective days!

Alex

af

Alex's sexy bike!!!  CERVELO baby!!!!

Here's the skinny on posting a pic:

You must upload your picture to a web-based program.  Your BT album works fine, I also use Shutterfly.  Once it is uploaded, open it up, and RIGHT click on it.  A message box opens up, click on "Properties".  Another box will open, highlight the http address and copy it.  Go back to your BT message and click on the icon that looks like a little tree.  Paste the URL into the box, type anything in the pic description, etc. then click OK and it should go in there.  If you get a box with a red X when you paste the URL, something is not working.  You should see the pic post once you type the pic description.  If the pic posts huge (like this one did), grab hold of the corner and drag it smaller.  You may have to even it up to keep the perspective.  That's about it....

So I guess Dad decided to spoil me yesterday and accidentally buy me a Polar Training watch and heart monitor....has anybody used one of these? He says it doesn't have GPS but I see that it costs a chunk more than a Garmin so I'm a little confused. Can't wait to try it out tonight!!

Yes, he mentioned something about that... do you know what model it is?  I don't know how much knowing just the HR helps, I definitely want the GPS and pacing feature more than the HR, but luckily the Garmin has both.  To really do justice to the HR you need to do an LT test... it's a biatch!!  Like, do a warm up, then run as hard as you can for 20 minutes and get an average HR from that and then figure out your zones.  I don't know all that much about it, but maybe Janet does since she's the marathon queen.

I read the whole flippin' book.  No GPS or Pace features.  It has a Fat Burner Mode and a Fitness Mode.  Allegedly it lets you know when you need to push harder and also when to back off based on your heartrate.  I plugged in all my info, and did the test it requires to guage where your fitness level is at currently.  Mine was at "Average" (Better than Lard A$$).  Anyway, it gives me more info than I get now. I was thinking, between the heart rate monitor strapped to my chest, the watch, and my iPod, I might as well take my phone and use the Training Buddy app for GPS and pace on it.  Heck, I need a dang running purse to hold all these things!!! Oh yea, it's the Polar FT40

I've thrown my HR strap in my junk drawer.  Never found any good use for all the data I was collecting.   I use perceived effort method and call it good.  That being said, I always run with Garmie because I need/want to know overall pace/ lap (mile) pace, overall time and most importantly distance for each run.  So Kati, you'll need to figure it all out and then explain the value sometime.  I'd be interested, really I would.

Tammy is so right, a running purse IS a fanny pack!

I agree in the sense that I LOVE the Data that the Garmin puts out.  I used the Polar for the first time last night, and I DO like it....I'm just still being a jerk about not having the GPS...  I will let you guys know as soon as I figure the thing out.
