I'm here -- but I've been busy trying to keep up with the posts in the Challenge forum.... Team 1 has been keeping me especially busy. Do you have any idea why that may be? :P

looks like you placed me on a chatty team...just as requested! U da best Dee! Hows the bike hunting going? You need to plan a trip out to SF and you can bike hunt in my garage...there are quite a few that are just looking to be rode! then maybe I can get my car back into my garage! what a concept!!!

Me too. Just don't feel like I belong since my training schedule is nil right now. Pam, I say go long, but I'm kind of messed up anyway. ;-)

I'll get my CT results on Tuesday so will know for sure what's happnin with the ticker. Meanwhile I'm running like crazy. Stef had a good day on Monday and Tuesday then back down Wednesday and today. No update on the job. This one will move kind of slow. I've got 2 hot ones in the oven, but the oven is only set on 220 degrees.

The triathlon is rocking! we are almost 50% full now. We are working on sponsors like crazy and getting commitments. I'm pleased with where we are. People are starting to talk more about it so it's good.

Hope all are doing well. Train hard - and run a few extra miles for me. 8 miles!! Non-stop!! Wow!! I have a hard time driving that far!!

Greg

Wow..mister Energizer Bunny...just keeps a going and a going....hope Stef feels better soon! tell her that I am thinking of her all the time!

NEVER...EVER - AND I MEAN NEVER feel like you are not a part of this group! I know the others feel the same way! we all want to hear what you are doing, no matter if it is hanging with the kids, heading to M.D. Anderson, daily updates on Stef, what is going on with the race details - you should be really proud of the Stephanie Johnson Race...it is such a class act race!! -  I would love to help you with sponsors - can you send me a sponsor packet again? ...please keep in touch and let us know what you are doing....triathlon related or not.

love to Stef and keep on being Greg...YOU ROCK!

Yeah. I put her with Sal and Beth. They'll corrupt her thoroughly give her a good introduction to the Challenges.

    Hi everyone!

Hope everyone is out biking or running or swimming.  The weather was pretty nice here all weekend so I got some good training in.  I signed up for my first tri of the season next Sunday and am getting excited.  The water is going to be cold!  Have a good rest of your Sunday!

    Pam,

Good to see your great excitement for the tri.  You should take great pride in what you have accomplished and use that confidence to take you into a new career for your future.  Your willingness to challenge the unknown will serve you well.

Julie, good of you to keep up with us all.

I would be a total lier if I were to say anything else than that last three weeks have been just awful.  Getting back here has been a nightmare.  Construction is half finished in the house and I can't get the contractor back, the flu (or equivalent), the "budget cuts" are work are settling in and well, I will talk that after those involved know...  in 29 years, I have never seen it this bad.

It has been almost imposable to get motivated to get back to training.  I have determined that I just cannot get up at 4:45 AM here the way I do in AZ to start my day at work.  In AZ, I work a couple of hours, take a break to train, then come back.  Here I just can't seem to get going at 4:45 AM, train and then be cleaned up and showered with suit and tie at 7:30 or so to drive to work.  I am going to talk to the team tomorrow about doing a split shift where three of us come in at seven and leave at 4:00.  I will take that schedule and train after 4:00 PM.  I will leave it to one of my partners to take over at 4:00 PM.  I always opened and closed the day for my teams, it has been a practice for the last 15+ years.  Tomorrow it must change...  That, and add a race. I need a goal big time...

Enough, You are all good to read my rant and I know friendship I need so badly today will fly back...  I left Ohio three years ago to avoid the rut we so easily slipped back into when we returned.  Peg waits at home all day for me to return and take her out.  Ohio is not like AZ where she is too busy.  I know my self well enough to know that I cannot be the perfect, patient, super all knowing pillar of strength for 18 hours a day, seven days a week.  I am just another guy and I need breaks to recharge.  Since the budget cuts did in my teaching trips through work, I will have to make changes now before it gets to me.  They start tomorrow...

Greg, you are in my prayers.  I get a small taste of your level of responsibility from time to time and you have my deepest respect.  I know you will be there for Stef just as I am there for Peg, but that does not mean that I feel like breaking a dish from time to time.  I haven't yet, but I have considered it.  I think a good run is more healthy...

    Be well all,  Emerson

PS:  Thanks for the ready stream of inspires over the last couple of weeks.  There were greatly appreciated.  EK

This is the best place to rant, ask for support or just be goofy   I've had a couple of down days with just being frustrated with life too.  I started a temp job today because I just can't survive any long without income.  It is not what I thought it would be so I am tired, stressed and then it rained in the middle of my bike so I didn't get to pound my issues out there.  A class of wine helped but not much.  Should be an interesting week.

Arrgghh! Went to get my cardiologists results today. They had me scheduled to see the nurse practitioner. After waiting for 30 minutes they said I had to see the doctor - not the NP. And, all of my results weren't in anyways. So now they have me scheduled to see the dr in 2 more weeks.

I'm going to start training again. I can't keep sitting around waiting. I'll be smart (long, slow distance - as though I could go fast if I wanted too).

    Oh well.

Amy....did I miss your race? darn!!!! promise to check it out the minute I get home from the doctor - after work today....things have been really crazy for me. All the events that I help with just kicked off starting last weekend....my first concert on the square with over 3000 spectators and then the next day was the pet parade...OMG - were there some amazing costumes...check out my bt log if you want to see them!! but that is noooo excuse not to be there for my BIGGEST and BESTEST cheerleader/motivator! I would ask how you did, but that would ruin my visit this afternoon! Sure you rocked the race! is this the race you competed in with your daughter?

Good update!! My cardiologist's nurse called today. My scans turned out looking great!! No blockages or calcifications! They have no idea why the stress test showed a problem. I'm going to meet with the doc on Wednesday for a follow up and to discuss in more detail, but was thrilled to hear the news today.

Also, I'm flying to Philly in 2 weeks (15th and 16th) for my interview with the rest of the management team of this company I've been talking too. I can't start work until July 21 because of their schedules, but things are looking pretty good right now. The commute is long (48 miles one way) but they provide me with a car allowance and pay for my gas. The good thing is it puts me closer to a lot of my Houston Racing friends.

Finally, some positive things for the Johnson's. I could get used to this!! ;-
