Today's run put me at 48.1 miles for the month compared to my goal of 45.  (I expected about 48, and got lucky with no business trip this past weekend which I was factoring into my goal.

Interesting thing...I expected to run 8 hours (and about 48 miles) and I'm only at 7:31, so I've still got 29 minutes towards my goal.  Don't worry, I'll exceed that too.

Hey Guy's
My knees are slowly feeling better. I will not try to run until the weekend at the earliest. I will fall well short of my goal. But, The rest of you guys are doing great.

Well, we're in the home stretch.  Whew.  5 miles left to get, which is where I need to be.  Probably won't be able to run again until Sunday.  Been sort of a trying month, especially work wise, so I'm glad I had this to keep me at least a little motivated to not go home and just crash everyday, even though that's what I did last night.

Listen to your body.  It's far more important to take care of an injury than to screw anything up for the future.

Hi Everyone!

We are at the end of week 4.  Here's the plan for wrapping up the challenge.

1) We will report numbers this weekend the same way we have so far.  Get your numbers logged by Saturday and Team captains will send me results on Sunday.

2) Standings will be posted Monday morning by noon.

3) SUN - TUE will be the last days of our challenge.  Get your numbers posted for those days by Tuesday night.

4) Team captains will send me the results from Sun to Tue on Wednesday.

5) I'll report the final challenge results on Thursday.

Let me know if you have questions.

Good luck to everyone!!

63.13 miles for the week. 239.57 total. My goal was 200, so I'm over. Good luck to the rest of you.

Today I did the last of my races for the month, an XC style 10K. Took 3rd in AG. In the month of September I did a half marathon, 1 10K, 2 5Ks, 1 2 miler, and 1 sprint duathlon - 6 races, I placed in AG in 4 of them. I raced a total of 33.5 running miles for the month which is reflected in the above total. I'll probably get in another 20-30 miles by the end of the month.

Go Okras!

Today's run put me at 8:34 and 56.06 miles, so I've reached my 8:00/45 mile goal.  I may get one more run in.

I got in a half-marathon this morning and tacked on another 7 miles this evening. That leaves just 0.9 miles to reach my goal. I'm pretty sure I can handle that over the next couple days!

Week 4 Results

* NADS RULE once again!

* Tomorrow is the last day!!  Come on everyone, get as many miles toward your goal as you can!!

(What am I saying!  I have a few more myself - which I will get done - I won't let you down Okras!)

* Remember that 100% is the highest you can go - unless there is a tie for 1st; then we'll look at additional miles run over the goal.

* Remember, log your miles by tomorrow night (Tuesday), Captains will report on Wed, and I'll post final results on Thursday.

* Please look over the spreadsheet for mistakes or omissions.  Thanks!!!

* BTW - there are some running ANIMALS in this challenge.  I'm impressed.

Ok, back in the real world, which includes BT time of course (at least for a brief moment).  I've got a 3 mile lunch time run on tap that will put me .5 miles over my goal.  Get in that last one, Okras!

Sigh...

I had a very early morning breakfast appointment.

Therefore I will be finishing up my entire amount of my goal in one run tonight.

But I will do it!!

whew!  Finished with 50.8 miles.  Eight tenths over.  Didn't leave much margin for error on that one.

I did 28.10 miles the last few days to finish the month with 267.67 miles. My goal was 200 so I was well over.

It appears that more than half the team made their goal, one was doing great until he went on injured reserve, one can still possibly make his goal, and one was perhaps a bit ambitious with the goal. Still we gave it a decent effort. WTG Okras!

Got my last run in for the month and exceeded the goal by 3.1 miles (Hey, that's a 5K!) Not a huge margin for error, but good enough.

BTW...Make sure that any runs you get in this week are logged by tomorrow afternoon, since that's when I'll probably be doing the final tally for shawn. Good luck and get out, there's still several hours left in the month!

I think I ran enough miles over my goal so that if we could allocate them to the people who didn't/couldn't make their goal, we would make the overall team mileage goal. It probably doesn't work that way, but if it goes to a tie breaker maybe we still have a chance.

BTW, in each of the past two months I've substantially increased my mileage from the previous month. No problems at all. That limitation of only increasing by 10% doesn't seem to be a hard and fast rule.

Fred, you did great too. It's very difficult to run when injured and you still had a decent month. Take it easy and let yourself completely heal. You can still swim and maybe do some weights to build the supporting muscles in your legs to help ease the burden on your knees. A month or so away from running and biking won't leave you so far out of shape that you would be starting all over again. Best of luck to you.

Shawn, nice going on getting that run in yesterday! Running a third of your monthly miles in one day must have been a challenge all by itself. Are you sore?

My legs were burning this morning.  It was a "run/walk" which all of mine have been since my injury.

BUT, I ran more of this one than I have any of the others.

AND, my hip feels good today!! I'm very pumped about that.  Maybe I can actually start pushing it a little bit.

Good job Okras!!

I'm still tabulating - waiting for 3 teams to get me results!

Hey Okras, good job! We moved up a slot for the final three days AND if you look at total miles run, only one other team beat us on that. Pretty cool, I think!
