I've been busy today. Meetings all morning, but an afternoon actually spending some time thinking and planning. Tonight I'm taking a work friend who's in town from Boston out to dinner. Lots to catch up on, so doubt I'll be home too early. Since I overslept this morning and didn't make it to the pool, today may wind up being a rest day. Perhaps I can at least get a resistance stretching session in before bed. Need any help Actually, you can get a much better session if you have a partner to work with. So true of many fun activities. Unfortunately at the moment, it's just me and *the carnivores* and they're no help here. Let me know if you're down this way and I'll show you some cool KiHara moves and teach you how to mash. |

Somehow 9000 might be attainable with the chat going on in the challenge threads! Whoa! And we all missed it.....belated Happy 8000! |

But I won't. My head is stuffed up. I have a sinus headache. And every time I stand up I get light headed. I have to get serious about my training and I can't today. Nah you should rest. No sense making things worst! I'll side with Bill and Kim and Kim on this one. Stay in. Rest up. You next workout will be a better quality one than anything you try to force today. That will help you in the long run. |

Elite 3144 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! I just got back from a pretty nice bike ride, so I'm pumped. It would have been really nice except that the gate guard made me come to a complete stop (even though NOONE ELSE was around) and my right calf cramped up when I put my foot on the ground. Grr... It's feeling better though. |

Elite 3144 | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! Hey Ghoulies... I'm just about to make some dinner here, but I had the need to post this before hand. A local 17 year old girl, who has been missing since last Thursday, was presumably found today (pending positive identification). She disappeared while running around a popular local lake and park area and evidence recovered at the scene led authorities to arrest a convicted sex offender who lived nearby who has been held on suspicion of rape and murder for the last couple days. Formal charges are expected to be filed soon based on evidence already recovered. I have two things I wanted to say here. First and foremost, please keep Chelsea and her family in your thoughts and prayers. From all accounts she was a vivacious, intelligent, and caring young woman with a very bright future ahead of her. This is definitely a huge loss, both for her family and her community. Second, please take care of yourselves out there. There are too many sick freaks like this out there to mention, and it is very important that we keep a watchful eye when we're out along the trails and roads we think we know so well. If you don't own pepper spray, I suggest you buy two cans. Use the first for practice. You do not want the first time you use it to be when you're in an emergency situation. Find a tree, an old coffee can, or another suitable target and paint the "face" area liberally. It's also a good idea to expose yourself to a little bit of it so you can acclimate yourself to it's effects. (dab it on, don't spray yourself) In the military, we're not allowed to carry pepper spray unless we've been sprayed and gone through an obstacle course. It's not a pleasant experience to say the least, but it's valuable. Martial arts classes are very valuable as well if you have access to them. Sorry if I sound a bit paranoid or overprotective here, but this one hit very close to home. Add to that the fact I've had extensive training in dealing with "bad guys" and hopefully that explains my mood a bit. Please, please, please take care of yourselves and keep your head on a swivel. If something doesn't feel right, it isn't. Be safe, and give the ones you love an extra hug and kiss tonight. |

IM A NEW WOMAN! its all good. and i met the HIPPEST COUPLE here at Mad Mex today. she recognized the scent of my lotion. i always know the person is gonna be uber hip when they do i shared with them about Josephs tour...apparently she suffers from migraines. theyre going to make a point to make it to one of Josephs events after i told them about his work/that he could help. then they shared with me about a CSA/Organic Farm where i can get a bushel of organic produce 1x a week, May through September for $450. SCHWEEEEEET! AND i was able to share guest passes to the Y wth them. they've been wanting to visit/join. SCORE ONE FOR THE Y. and the husband was a competitive swimmer and looking to get back into it, so i was able to pass on info about the Masters swim team i LOVE these seredipitious encounters. the make my day for sure. stacieb Hey Stacie! I'm starting to think Mad Mex should put you on the payroll. With all the folks you meet there and the extra orders that come as a result, the least they could do is give you a commission! Seriously though, sounds like you had a cool afternoon! TOM. i actually am considering working here first, cuz i just love the people. second, cuz i get free food and (i believe) free alcohol. ive never been a waitress before, i dont even think that i'd like it/be that good at it, but..... i do LOVE their food and their White Sangrias&Margaritas that much. stacieb I would come be your customer!! I am a good tipper...especially for a little extra margarita Yep I'm a lush TopPage Edited by kromanowski 2010-03-02 7:46 PM |

Amy - Still in Phoenix enjoying the weather?? No...just stupid busy. Been running around town all day cause I had to go "observe" a group doing a health presentation to a bunch of grade 2's...observe meaning I just kinda sat at the back of the class and pretended to be listening... Ya...I'm on the ball... Did a bike today...it was fairly intense for 45min. My legs are a little burny...oh well.. Got an email from my supervisor in Victoria. I've got to register for a bioinformatics course in June...It will be useful I guess to figure out data analysis...seeing how it looks like I will be doing a masters hahahaha... |

I'd read the reports about Chelsea being missing but not heard that they'd possibly recovered a body. How tragic for Chelsea, her family, and the community. So very senseless and sad. I hate that this is part of the world we live in. Children should not have to face this type of senseless violence. Ever. Tom, your thoughts about safety are well taken. I started running with mace (bought it in VT as it is illegal to sell in NJ) a while ago - honestly, after a bear was spotted in the 'hood although I should be more concerned about *bad* people. (I live 30 miles from NYC and I have to worry about bears?) BUT, I've never practiced using it. In an emergency, I'm not sure how effective I would be. I'd probably squirt the perp/bear with my water bottle instead. So, this weekend the back up container is going to be used for target practice. Hugs to all. Prayers for Chelsea and her family. Kim. |

Creepers...ick! There was a woman raped and killed up here in Edmonton a few years back in our Rivervalley while on a run. I don't run there alone though and stick to higher trafficked areas like the military base and areas I knwo there are cops frequently around. Never ran with mace before, though I should probably go pick myself up a can. Very true that you just don't know who is out there, and we definately are not invincable. |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulie March (biking) Madness!!! Good morning everyone. I am at work today, though I'd much rather be home in bed. We will see how long I last sitting at my desk. Tom - I read the article on CNN this morning before I read your post. I hope the man they have in jail is the person responsible and all of this can come to a quick and just end for her family. I do not run with mace, but I am protected, and I know how to use it. We will leave it at that. I take my cell with me when I run most of the time, too. I live in BFE and you never know what may happen. Luck favors the prepared. On a brighter note - I am so happy everyone got their shirts so quickly. I hope you like them. My nephew helped with the graphics. His resume includes art director/graphic designer for Maxim, Rolling Stone, GQ, and he helped start up a new magazine in NYC, the name slips my mind at the moment. He also spent a year in Prague helping to get a new magazine up and running. I need to remember to send him a thank you. Have a slam dunk day Ghoulies!!! |

IMHO I don't think post count matters. You can have someone with 20 posts who has been doing triathlons or whatever pertaining to the forum you are on for years and they just found the site. Or you can find someone with a bazillion posts who has never done whatever. I don't think it's the quantity of posts but the quality that makes your information valuable. That's just me. |
