Well, I guess I could be called "Anyone", so I'll respond. I recommend contacting lisac957 since she's strictly gluten-free, and not by choice. I know she'll give you some great information. |

If you are considering going gluten free start by just avoiding anything that has wheat flour in it. (also barley, rye, spelt, kamut, and triticale) in you are serious about it they you would look into products that may contain hidden forms of gluten...natural flavors, natural colors, caramel color, modified food starch, malt extract...and determine which foods are gluten free. I know of a few Australian gluten free companies...Orgran is one. I can get you more info in a bit. I've got to run for now....I need to get my entire storage unit emptied today! Lots of moving of stuff. I will get back to you later. |

Sensitivity rather than full blown Celiac... its an immune response (Celiac disease and gluten intolerance) so from what I can tell there is a pretty clear link between that and what I have in some cases so its worth giving it a go! Its now day 3 of eating pretty restricted and I dont know if its helping.... with gluten free from what Ive read you should notice the effects in the first week... I noticed fairly quickly that my stomach issues were improving, but I don't remember how long it took. And I later saw improvement with some blood values (Vitamin D and ferritin, for example). I didn't have my thyroid antibodies rechecked, but from what I've read, there's a correlation between the production of thyroid antibodies and gluten sensitivity too. |

Its now day 3 of eating pretty restricted and I dont know if its helping.... with gluten free from what Ive read you should notice the effects in the first week... Yeah - I dont really have bad nausea anymore but the weather has turned colder in the last few days too which also helps so I dont know if its really helping or not! If anything its saving me cash as I did a $50 shop on the weekend and apart from buying a couple of drinks Ive been eating the stuff I bought! My tummy is still all over the place but I reckon I have a bit more control over the symptoms AND I havent had a painkiller at all today... but once again I do have better days and I tend to feel wrose as the day goes on so I dont know yet if its helping... I also had the best night sleep Ive had in a LONG time last night... I reckon abut 6 hours straight!!!! Im feeling dopey and tired today but I have a lot of sleep I need to catch up on so Im not surprised! I have no idea.... could just be a better patch as I have those too but I really want this to help! Either way at least Im eating healthier... if I hadnt already spent a fortune in the last week on food, herbs, vitamins, naturopath and last weeks consult I would be seeing a nutritionist/dietician but that will have to wait until after chrissie! |
