Hell yeah...it's funny how many people gawk at me when I tell them I just swam 400 or 800 meters...they think it's like a huge distance, when I'm sittin here thinking, damn I should have done more!! LOL Got that right --- I've only been swimming since October, and I'm feeling guilty if I don't do at LEAST 1200-1500 yards a workout! HAHA -- Now this morning -- I pop off my longest swim workout ever, 2900 and go WOAH --- and there are some out there doing 4000-6000 a workout! Certainly all is relative. But the biggest thing I've learned through this whole process is that there is yardage, and there is garbage yardage. I've learned to make the yardage valuable, there has to be a specific purpose in that particular workout! It might be endurance, speed, or recovery/technique etc, but there has to be a purpose. Otherwise, it's just wearing out your swimsuit! haha Keep up the good work! |
