Only 2 more commutes for me, too many excuses, weather only stopped me twice. ...BTW, I love this commuting on the bike, I am so much more energized and productive at work since the endorphins are still kicking in after the bike ride in. Happy holiday weekend to all.

Two (I guess) commutes for me this week. I mention "I guess" as one of these was to/from the tire store to get tires for my car. I wouldn't claim it, but I'm so far behind now, I'll take anything I can get.

So, I'm 5/48 now.

2 of 3 work day commutes this week. On day 2, I rode the bus. It takes longer if I ride the bus, but then I don't have to shower once I arrive, so it works out that I leave at the same time.

Bummer about the flat, Bopper. I only had one flat this week, and it was a puncture. Any suggestions on tires that are more resistant to punctures?

I have been working my red bike off since last November.  I am finally taking some much needed vacation. Thing is, I didn't account vacation when I set my goal, so I may come up a bit short.  Can I count a ride as "running errands" if I stop at a store and buy an RC Cola and a moonpie?

One more for me:

tjtryon 12 7

All this biking is doing wonders for my speed/endurance...

I have roughly 350 miles commuting so far, and that does not count commuting to the pool or elsewhere...

Woo! Gas was $3.54 at the many stations I rode past this morning. As a bonus, I think I have saved about $100 riding.

Despite the forecast of 60% of rain today, I rode in anyway. I got some mist on the way in, but I beat the AM thunderstorms. I'm going to try to ride even if it's raining as long as it's not storming too bad and the visibility is OK. Then again, after this week, I don't think it will rain more than 3 days total until October.

I figured I'd average 12 commutes per month, but at 6 now, I've got some catching up to do.

I do just that, I have a very bad road, cars and bikes both, and I ride early, 4AM, not the place I want to be.
I drive to the local supermkt and park, I then ride to work.

Thanks, on the trip home, I was in 60% in drizzle, 10% rain, and the rest just with wet streets. Had I not posted this earlier, I would have taken the easy way out. My wife was even on my side of town when it was time to leave.

I must also add that my ride is mainly through neighborhoods and a few short times on park trails. The other roads I do ride on are low traffic, 30-35mph 4 lane boulavard streets. I may get passed by 5 cars total while riding on these.

I'm a wimp, I was going to ride in tody, but when I woke up, I am still a bit sore from yesterday's ride. I guess my old body can't handle back to back 50 mile trips. Hopefully this will get better with time...

Just get on your bike and ride. Everybody's situation is different. Here's a thread a while back about bike commuting:

If you have any specific questions, let 'em rip.

Finally got a "real" commute in this morning.  I forgot how nice it is to get to work with some miles already under your belt.   It was pretty brisk (43F) but I warmed up quick.   So I am at (sigh) 3 out of 50.

Ya know, with a 50 mile round trip commute, I didn't think I was playing it safe with 12 commutes for a total of 600 miles. I thought I'd have a hard time getting that many in. Since I'm over half of that at 1 month, I am going to double my number! With gas prices doubling this summer, I don't think I'll have a difficult time with this...

To the rest of you who are slacking - I've already completed several hundred miles commuting.
