Nobody I really know texts, so we don't, I'm sure when my kids are old enough I will have to learn.

It's a good thing I know how to text.  There are days when that is the only communication I have with my teenager.

are you in the same room when they text you!? that used to be what my dd would do...and I would just look at her and tell her when she pays for the text she can use them this way...but I prefer her use her voice when we are in the same room! durn kids!

No, she's usually locked herself in her room and won't come out to have a conversation.

Wow my Mum must be glad I grew up just before it became normal for teenagers to have mobile phones...

I didnt get one until I moved out of home but NO WAY would she have stood for me doing that!

Yeah my mom would definitely not stood for that.

Wow my Mum must be glad I grew up just before it became normal for teenagers to have mobile phones...

I didnt get one until I moved out of home but NO WAY would she have stood for me doing that!

yeah....my dd asked for a pager which was all the kids had when she was in jr high...but the only people I knew who had pagers were those who sold drugs...NO COMMENTS PHIL!

instead I ended up giving her my calling card number and she would call me when she needed on it...one day one of her rowing buddies from high school asked if she could call her mom cuz she had no money...so my dd said for her to dial the number and she would type in the code...so she did...and little did she know that this girl was memorizing our calling card number...and because I am a trusting mom...we got a few bills of RATHER HIGH COSTS before I asked my daughter why she was calling all her buddies on the calling card..she kept saying she wasnt and she had no idea whos number they were...so I did my GPOL INVESTIGATING and found after calling a few of the numbers and they had no idea who my dd was and instead said the only person they knew from the school they went to was this other girl...so, I called this girl who had spent the night at our house and used to call me mom all the time and told her of our discoveries...I had her come to the house and I placed the past four bills in front of her and told her to circle every call that she made...then add them up a few times to make sure she got the same $ amt....she did and it came to almost $400...so, I told her that I expected her to pay me back...not her mom...but her! I told her that I was totally disappointed and that I tried to treat her like my own and that what she did was so wrong!...I also told her that we ( my daughter and I) would never mention this to anyone from school or the rowing team - UNLESS I heard of her pulling another silly stunt like this! She did pay me back in full and I made sure her mom had nothing to do with the money!...the sad thing is she still calls my daughter but they are not that close anymore....imagine that!!??

sorry about the ramble! but this is something I never thought would happen...but you NEVER KNOW! world is full of all kinds! and not everyone is as honest as you would hope them to be!

I think considering everything Julie has had going this month its incredibly impressive she is already at her goal.

I also know that Julie will keep it up whether she increases her goal or not.

So... Im leaving it up to her!

Ive also gone and told our puppy to update the spreadsheet since he appears to not have been doing it which brings our total down as a team...

And as I mentioend at the beginning of the challenge... I want to win!

It's not Dee's challenge this month. It's SuperCat's BIRTHDAY challenge. (Although her birthday has already come and gone.)

Besides, are you really sure you want me updating the spreadsheet for you? I might accidentally slip and add an extra 5 55 hours.

Well since he enjoys tasering Im not really sure what other motivation we can offer him...

He has been on BT and updating his logs so really there is NO excuse...

Well I do think in a lot of cases children are a reflection of their parents... not always... but a lot of the time!

I am not sure...but I did pour my heart into her! I found out I had cancer when she was only 4 years old...so I wanted to make sure that she would be independent if something did happen! Kinda makes me a little sad cuz I pushed her away a little to make sure she would not be devastated if something did happen...I thank God for giving me this time with her! I was so worried I would never see her graduate, get married...

I did see her graduate...but she is VERY picky with boys and we may be waiting a LONG time for the married stuff! she has a boyfriend...kinda but nothing too serious...but that is a start! haha and I can wait as long as she finds a good guy who will treat her like the queen she is!

swam for almost an hour and a half! and now I am going for a run! was going to bike but will go first thing in the morning when the wind isnt howling so much! HOPEFULLY it wont be!

I guess I under estimated my abilities for this month...my goal was to work out 30 hours and I am now over....do I want to up my hours...seeing we have another week...or just stay put where I am?

What? Stay where you are and take next week off???? Noooooooooooooooooo........... We can't allow that. You need to feel pain exercise just like we do! Cat! I think you need to have a chat with Julie and taser her for setting her goals too low encourage her to raise her goals.

yes cat lets chat...and keep Dee away from me! PLLLLEEEEASE!

Why? It's just a pretty little taser in my hand.....

what color you have today?

Girl Passing on Left - 2009-04-23 8:26 PM Can I change the total hours or do you or dee need to do it for me!?

It's not Dee's challenge this month. It's SuperCat's BIRTHDAY challenge. (Although her birthday has already come and gone.) Besides, are you really sure you want me updating the spreadsheet for you? I might accidentally slip and add an extra 5 55 hours.

I thought you were a friend! with friends like you...who needs enemies!?

I will make the changes...would hate to make Cat lose this challenge cuz of the slip of your hand.
NEVER MIND!

Wow you handled that incredibly well!!! The girl may not be your biggest fan but she surely learnt a lesson in a good way rather than an embarrassing one!

Awesome!

thanks! she actually was very nice to me when I saw her recently...but sure she was cursing me under her breath! but thats ok! she lived with her single mom and did not get much discipline...so, I didnt mind giving her some MUCH needed attention! I always told my dd that she has it great as long as she stays in line and doesnt screw up...but when she does she will lose all priveledges and our trust....to this day...she is AMAZING! I am a lucky gal to have such a people pleasing...super smart and beautiful dd! can you tell I am proud of her!?

Well I do think in a lot of cases children are a reflection of their parents... not always... but a lot of the time!

I am not sure...but I did pour my heart into her! I found out I had cancer when she was only 4 years old...so I wanted to make sure that she would be independent if something did happen! Kinda makes me a little sad cuz I pushed her away a little to make sure she would not be devastated if something did happen...I thank God for giving me this time with her! Its really really awesome to know that it all worked out When my parents relationship was really rocky my mum would talk to me and lean on me... now they are going through the divorce I know she still tells me more than I should...

I cant say anything about boys though... Im 27 and havent been in a situation where Ive been CLOSE to the married thing or met anyone I thought that stuff would happen with. Im told the good guys are out there though... so Im sure they are for her too!

kaqphin - 2009-04-23 8:38 PM You can do it yourself on the spreadsheet next time yuo are in there... or I will  if I visit sometime...

Ive also gone and told our puppy to update the spreadsheet since he appears to not have been doing it which brings our total down as a team...

And as I mentioend at the beginning of the challenge... I want to win!

Although perhaps not as much as I want to win next month... since a pair of men want to try and take me on... their goals combined vs me solo...

I havent deided on the terms yet.. or if thats realistic without severely injuring myself!

Does Rudy require tasering???? Where has he been, anyway?

maybe he needs the jacob ladder...seeing he slipped off the face of the earth...may make it easier to get back quickly! PLUS, we all know how you like to pull that out of your bag of tricks!

finally, I do think you should change your user name to ELETRICI-DEE.
