After some advice from a VERY WISE person.

I have decided to pull out of Black Bear. I am worried about my hamstring, and the Marine Corps Marathon is more important to me than Black Bear. I want to be healthy and ready to train for the marathon. After Sunday I'm taking the rest of May off from running, I'll still bike and swim. Then I'll have 2 weeks to ease back into running before marathon training officially starts.

I still have 2 other triathlons on the schedule for later in the summer.

Like they say Ann, discretion is the better part of valor. I think this is a very smart move and will help you to enjoy the MCM preparation with as little anxiety as possible. At least you still have 2 other tris you can destroy this year!

Thanks. I found a Shimano Ultegra 6700 but after some further reading I'm not sure it will work with my derailler. I need to keep looking.

Thanks. I found a Shimano Ultegra 6700 but after some further reading I'm not sure it will work with my derailler. I need to keep looking.

I did see on Bike Island that they have a SRAM (Rival or Force I believe) cassette that was 10 speed and had 11-26 and 11-28 available. I'm not too sure about derailleur compatibility but if you call your LBS they'd be able to let you know in a heartbeat.

That's the one I was looking at, and I would think so. I know I've seen bikes configured with a mixture of Shimano and SRAM, but I don't know specifically if your RD will be compatible.

When I was looking at different ones online they would say compatible with xx and xx components and most of them were Shimano and SRAM, just different groups.
