OMG!!!! YOU....with an iPhone?!! Well, now that you have a high speed communication device one should expect to receive some TXT messages...before the NEXT blue moon!! LMAO!!

WOW! If I hadn't been sitting down and buckled in my truck, I would've FALLEN OVER!! LMAO

Welcome to the world Hilde.....Now, come play Words with Friends with me!!

I've been a baking/cooking madwoman the last 10 days or so since school ended! Made granola bars, 'french toast' w/o bread, banana oatmeal cookies....Then last nights' awesome dinner...and just now made some citrus flavored hummus!! That's a first for me!

After looking at my splits on garmin connect this morning I figured out why I felt like heaving when finished....my min/mi on the 1st was around an 8:21 and the second an 8:40 something!! Then, even though my average pace was about a high 12 min/mile while walking my AVERAGE for the morning of 3.6 miles was just over a 10 minute mile!! Whew! No wonder I was DRENCHED!! )

Nice job being a highly domesticated Triathlete!!!  Is that what it takes to get my wife to cook...hmmmm.....it's never gonna happen..haha.  Great job on pushing to the point of heaving!!!  Great job pushing a 8:21 for the first mile.....nice, very nice!

Well, I'm excited to get my new and improved bike back!!!!  I just know we will be out for a bike ride this weekend!

Been Busy mother.  Two birthday parties this last weekend, grocery shopping, laundry, carwash, nail shop, I mean damnnnnnnnnnn, I'm a busy girl!

I did run yesterday, I just forgot to log.  I will do that tonight.  I started off hauling butt and did a 9:15 mile, and then I pathetically jogged/walked my way home about another mile....Ooops.

LMAO at the workplace sign and the t-shirt slogan! Of course, most people would have to ask you what the heck 'tapering' is...

Been a busy but pleasant weekend here: audition and a show to see Sat, then met up with some friends from the summer on Sun. The weather has FINALLY improved, so running today was a delight as opposed to a chore. Hope it stays this way for a while-- I could get used to this!

Advance notice: I'll be in NYC with my sister and a couple of her friends this weekend-- it'll be great to have a break. I'll probably work out at the hotel and we'll do a lot of walking, but won't be able to update my logs until I get back on Monday sometime. I know, I know...what else is new... but hey, at least I DID get my logs updated, right?

Hope everyone has an excellent week!

Nice bike porn, Wilson! I don't know how to choose, except maybe test ride each and see which one feels best.As for me, the last couple of weeks have been work/train/race/work/bake/host dinner party/train/pack/back to work. I'm back in Canada (Winnipeg this time), where it's lovely and actually feels like fall. And I'm tapering, 'cuz the big mary is les than 2 weeks away!! I'm feeling pretty good about it; the training went better than I expected, so I think I'll survive. Still waiting for it to cool off at home. One thing's for sure: my next marathon- IF there is one- will be a spring race!Hope you are all doing well...

Funny video, Tammy!!  I loved him shaving his legs in the bathtub....

Wilson, that Fuji is pretty darned HOT!!!  And if you do go for the B16, the white bar tape HAS to go, I don't know why they even make that stuff, it looks nasty after your first ride.  The white tires are questionable too... They all are hot bikes, I'm with Tammy, go ride them all, I'm sure they all have different geometries and are like running shoes, one will feel better than the rest.  Can't wait to see what you pick!!  (Ummm, has Cheryl given you the go ahead??!)

Hrm...I like that shirt and think 2011 has been one big long taper for me.

Wilson, having been through the process twice now, I would totally hit up a local bike shop, have them measure you and then take out as many as you can  (I've ordered stuff online from Bike Outfitter Indy before and liked their service).  Yes, a good fitter can make any bike fit you but you'll end up much more comfortable and happy if they aren't trying to overcome the bike's natural dimensions in order to do it.  It's one of the regrets I have with my tri-bike is that I didn't try riding any others because I was so excited about actually getting one that I took the best bike with the best components that I could find in my price range.

Those are all very good looking bikes though so take your time, have fun and enjoy the end of season sales!!

Hi all!  Haven't posted over here much but I AM still around!!  I think I might have asked this question a long time ago, but I'll just ask again:  What kind of trainers do you folks have?  Maybe if I have an indoor trainer for the bike I might get more riding in - it's dark earlier AND I'm usually watching my granddaughter after I get out of work(school).   I have a gym membership (which I totally don't use except to swim once a week - LAME) but it's hard to get to the gym and get home to feed Caileigh and have her in bed early enough for school.  It wasn't so bad when she wasn't in preschool every day but now she is and it's just too late when we get home from the gym.   Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions/advice on trainers.  What do you have, and what do you like/dislike about it?

BTW, Tammy and Hilde - I totally play Words - give me your sign ons and I'd love to play with you.

Peggy, I have a Kurt Kinetic fluid trainer, really heavy duty and pretty quiet.  They are kind of expensive, but they have a lifetime warranty.  I would be really careful using one with a little one around, even the dogs make me nervous if they ever stuck their noses into the back spokes while the wheel was going around!  My husband has a Blackburn fluid and he likes it.

I don't play FB games.... sorry!

I have a Kurt kinetic as well and like it when I actually am motivated to use it. From what I remember, I got it over other brands because it has a closed cylinder or something, so it is less likely to leak or let crud into it. Oh - and grandmawmaw Hilde with the supercool phone, Words with Friends is an app you can download and then play with friends who also have it. It is kind of like scrabble.

I have the $100 HARD AS HE!! mag trainer......it works but is noisy so is relegated to the garage and only used on the coldest/wettest days when I just won't go out to train.

I play Words on my Droid.....run4seven is my handle...
