Subject: RE: TAN #193: Labyrinth where unatTANded children go ...Big Appa - 2013-01-28 8:44 AM For painting a whole house I found it better to just play people with the professional sprayers. For just one or two rooms I do it myself. Now scraping off the acoustic ceiling oh man that is hell. Oh, man... I remodeled my kitchen a couple of years ago; I combined two rooms into one. When I took down the wall between the rooms, I found that the walls were different thicknesses. It turns out a previous owner had put a 1/4" layer of drywall up over the wall in the room I was adding on... so, rather than put more drywall up, I took what they added down. Oy, that sucked because what they had covered was that popcorn ceiling texture on the wall, from floor to ceiling. That was a nightmare of scraping, belt sanding, and a three skim coats of drywall mud to smooth it out..... I should have just put up more drywall. |
