Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Election 2016 Originally posted by tuwood Originally posted by dmiller5 Originally posted by Hook'em Originally posted by RogillioThe entire Trump supporting 60 million demographic had been labeled homophobic, bigoteted, racists, misogynistic and hateful. Millions of those confused racists and bigots voted for Obama twice. false....turnout was much lower...trump got fewer votes than romney.....the obama voters voted for clinton or stayed home Dave, that's a lie flying around the progressive circles to try and convince each other that Progressivism is still the standard and Trump only won because Obama voters stayed home. It's not true. The vote "totals" that everyone has been using are the incomplete votes this year in comparison to the total vote count in 2012. Earlier today there were still an estimated 6M votes yet to be counted with absentee and mail in ballots. That presents an uncomfortable reality for anti-Trump forces: they’re attempting to thwart the candidate who is likely to win more Republican primary votes than any GOP contender in at least the last 36 years, and maybe ever. Whoops, darn google. I read a politico article this morning describing why the votes argument was bunk and searched for it. Accidentally grabbed the above linked article that was from the primaries. (oddly it was dated this week on the google search) anyways now I can't find the other one. Anyways, there are still 6M votes to be counted and he will far surpass Romney's vote totals when all is said and done. |

Includes National, State, and Local. I do know they've been declining for several years, so it makes sense. If true, then it should tell us where the pulse of America really is. |

I just accepted the fact that more Americans did not share my paradigms than did. I'm ok with that. As a republican I accept that my support of legalization of pot, assisted suicide, decriminalize prostitution and gambling. The world does not have to agree wth you. |

Champion 10157 Alabama | Subject: RE: Election 2016 The protests reflect poorly on our educational system. I'm just amazed at the number of people who think the US is a democracy and saying 'one person one vote'. If we were a democracy, the majority would ride rough shod over minorities. The founding fathers recognized this and put the electoral system in the constitution. The fact that Trump didn't win the popular is a teachable moment for people who think our government is a democracy. We are a constitutional republic. We choose representatives to represent everyone not the majority. |

Pro 9391 Omaha, NE | Subject: RE: Election 2016 This is a pretty interesting comparison of the electoral college over the years. http://www.270towin.com/historical-presidential-elections/ The one that surprised me the most was Nixon in 72. I only know of him as the crook getting impeached, but the dude was crazy popular. |

So if it was a straight majority vote, the GOP would easily pick up 2+ million votes in CA if they actually campaigned there. |

What's your point? We honestly have no way of knowing, but we do know both campaigns would campaign differently than they did so the popular vote would be "different". Another issue is the amount of fraudulent votes in heavy blue districts that are being discovered. I know we've beat the voter fraud thing to a pulp here, but it's a real problem and it's a real problem in all the areas that don't require any kind of ID or name to be given. As part of the swamp draining, I do hope they can put in a Federal law requiring either an ID or at the least giving a name that is verified to be registered at the precinct. |

Makes a lot of this BS hate crime gray area. |

What's your point? The point is, if we elected the POTUS by popular vote, the popular. One would be vastly different. No way of knowing what the popular vote would be. The only thin we do know is that the election would ignore about half the country. As I posted previously, CA alone with 39 million people would have more voting power the the combined voting power of the bottom 21 least populous states. |
