kcarroll - 2010-10-25 5:36 PM Most, have a bike question for you. I may have someone interested in buying my road bike. I'd consider selling as it is a good but not great fit. Women's geometry bikes until recently maxed at 56 cm. My inseam is too long for a 56. So I have a men's 58.2 cm Specialized Roubaix Comp.  I am still a bit stretched out over the top tube but there's not much more that we can do to adjust. New women's models are coming in with 57 options and I'd be game for a new bike if I can get a good price for my current ride.

Link to this year's model below. It has Shimano 105's, new Profile Design Clip ons, and new carbon Keo's. Mine is 3 years old and in perfect condition. Any thoughts on how I might price it?

http://martysreliable.com/product/specialized-roubaix-comp-105-75142-1.htm

Kim - do you have an interested party?  The problem is that with closeouts someone could probably get a "brand new" one for around $2000 or so - maybe even less.  That would not include the pedals and you might consider taking those off and throwing some less expensive pedals on - or sell them seperately.

I would maybe start around $1700 or lower if the $2599 price is accurate.

It always boils down to wants and needs and if I wasn't getting a snowbike I would be very interested - that is one nice bike.

If you still have it in the spring I will throw $1500 at you and see what you think - need Uncle Sam's rebate though - LOL

Bill, thanks for the advice. Totally makes sense. Especially re closeouts. I checked the lbs closeout bikes and they've got last year's model for $1900. I've got someone who may be interested. If it doesn't pan out we can revisit after Uncle Sam's rebate.

Well with your pedals included I would feel good at $1700 but give them the option to take them off and shoot for $1500-1600.

Those closeouts are killers!!!!!

You got that right. If only they had the bike I want on sale. Sigh. No such luck.

Come in needing diapers - go out needing diapers

I came in to the world naked. That's how I want to go out, too.

Yes, it can be sad. Look at it this way though, he has lived long enough for it to come full circle. There are those who never live that long. My grandfather never got to see either one of my kids. My grandmother never met my daughter. He got to know his grandchildren when they were older, not babies. Don't dwell on what is happening. Remember all that he's been fortunate enough to see and do.

Funny how it never works out like that!

Do they do trades - since you are upgrading?  Probably better off selling it though.

They don't do trades. I'm in no hurry, just feeling like I can spend some $ since I'm working again. Plus, I've been eyeing the new Ruby's.

mndymond - 2010-10-25 9:52 PM I'm done. I strapped on my HRM and realised my HR was 105 sitting there...yaaa...swam anyways...mild tachycardia...whatevs..

We did a lot of underwater kick tonight...20x25 underwater dolphin on front and back. At least my anaerobic capacity should be going up? We did an IM set and then did a 200IM fast...which I went 3:05 for...not impressed. Post marathon Melissa is not impressed...tachycardia...calf cramps...slowness...etc...

I know, I know...rest...I'm going to bed now? I hydrated after practice and I took my iron...should be good to go? Yes? Haha

See you all tomorrow.

I'm thinking you need more than one night's 8 hours of sleep. You sound overtrained to me. And not fully recovered from the marathon. Careful, between that and the stress of med school, you could really get into some nasty downward spirals.

I'm being careful. I'm not feeling too bad right now. We will see...I have been a bit...um...undiplomatic this week...and last week...due to my tiredness...hhaa
