I just read a race report that was so inspiring it made me cry

wow

A recent one? My favourite is still Pirate Girls from IM AZ about 18 months ago...

i didn't see that one

Its very inspiring... and emotional... which one were you reading?

it's rreishl from Nebraska

she is in my mentor group, has participated in a couple challenges and I've met her in person, a really super gal!

Its even sweeter when you know the person...

it is indeed!

we went riding together one of the last weekends I was in town - she's going to go to Des Moines to watch the race next weekend

she is super!

Her race report is fabulous... its wonderful what an amazing turn around she has made!

it is really awesome - she wasn't kidding, I met her on her second day in the pool - I think it was in January, maybe December, definitely before February - LOL!

funny you ask, yes it has

but probably not until 2010 - realistically with the family getting adjusted to a new state next year, it doesn't feel quite right to commit to the training time that is needed to do a big race

That seems very reasonable to me... I walways find it amazing that people manage to hold down successful careers and get family time while pulling out some HUGe training weeks... I really dont know how people do it and maintain it!

hmmm

tough question - you don't want to be shaky because of hunger when you do your presentation

you may not be feeling hungry because your mind is focused on other topics and is ignoring your tummy

I would vote for eating a little something healthy between now and the b-day cake

fwiw

of course that all depends on what your normal eating times are (that sounds funny

we start set up at 4pm... there will be snacks and beer put on for the session so worst case I will be able to just have a bit of the catering

Maybe I will pop up to the cafe and get a fruit salad.. then I can just have it some time this afternoon (before 4) whenever I get hungry...
