hildekq - 2011-10-09 10:04 AM Oh Wilson, I can see you are in love... I hope you didn't strain yourself trying to hold the bike up in the air!  I'm with Joe, I have the Cobb V-flow Plus.... started with the regular one and it wasn't quite right, but I'm liking the Plus... 6 month no questions asked return/exchange policy too!  Is there an accent color on the bike, or was it just the way the light was hitting it?  Almost looked like a gold color.  And the white bar tape, you're gonna want it gone before long, gets dirty really fast and doesn't clean up well.  EASY fix, and if the bike is all black and white you can choose ANY color to use as an accent!  That bent top tube has always been intriguing to me on the Looks.... What components does it have?  And is it 2011, 2012?  I'm hoping you got a deal on a 2011.  The 2012 B16 is all black and white too, I'm glad I got the lime green!  It's sure looking like I'm gonna have my work cut out for me in Waco in July!!!!!!  Felt vs. Look!

Thanks guys for liking my new ride!!! yes, the tape will have to go eventually - but the saddle needs to be first!!!  I think Joe and Hilde are right on...I'm gonna try the Cobb v-flow plus to cushion my little sensitive taint....Hilde, there is no accent color really - some red on the wheels that's about it....My bike is a 2011 and I did get a pretty good discount and got some small extras thrown in too.  I was really fretting the decision to spend so much money on a bike....I'm sure I didn't need it, but I did make myself a deal that if I stayed with it - and got above 20mph average in a race that I could get it....So I did meet my goals set 1.75 years ago....Yes my friend...you will have your work cut out for you in Waco!!!!  I can promise you that!!

haha you have it so wrong...its' so I dont have to wear a HELMET which would mess up my hair! *muah!  Sure beats having to wear rec-specs!

Rec-Specs?  That's IT!  You're SO dead lmao.  And Wilson, so sorry to hear about your poor taint, my lack of T.I.T.S. has definitely left me walking like the prom queen a few times.  STINKS! Love the bike, and I REALLY like how you took pictures of it on the side of your house like a family portrait.

YES, we need more to help our taints.....that would be a good t-shirt!!!!  The bike is now part of the family....I'll need to photograph my roadie with my Tri bike...so they feel more like siblings!! haha  Rec-Specs????? hmmmmm.....sexy!?!?!

peggyf - 2011-10-11 5:03 PM Sweet ride Wilson!  I am so jealous!  But since I haven't actually ridden my bike lately I guess there'll be no new bike in my future -- until I start regularly riding the one I have, right?

Yep, gotta abuse your current ride to get another.....maybe..haha.  Best thing is just to be out riding anything and enjoying it...right...but a new piece of equipment does make it a tad bit more fun!

hildekq - 2011-10-11 3:15 PM Hey all, Tammy Tucker is having foot surgery tomorrow so send her some love!!  She'll be sitting on her arse eating bon bons and vicodin for 3 weeks, so don't feel TOOO TOOO bad for her, ha ha!!  Maybe she'll blow up into a giant sized couch potato and I'll be able to be a faster runner than her... yeah, fat chance I know, but it's worth at least the thought....

Hey Peeps!! Wilson that bike is one S.A.B!! Lemme know if you need a translation.... ;-

Indeed the surgery went off w/o a hitch this morning and I am STONED on some vicodin which is keeping me uber nauseated so the only thing I have had to eat today is some toast that came back up and some crackers that did the same. Sippin some sprite now trying to make peace w/my belly.

Hilde my dear, I am going to consider this your HEAD START to get faster than me for the Cowtown HM!! Whatcha think? Between sitting on my arse for 3 freakin weeks and all the bonbons it should be easy for you to make your run pace faster than mine!! LOL

For the record, after the surgery the Doc informed me that indeed, the nerve they snipped was PISSED OFF and much larger and more inflamed than it should have been. Good to know when one goes under the knife that the surgery was not a waste of time, yes?

Okay, so spell check just went on strike because my brain, under the influence of hydrocodone, is not so good at typing...spelling or speaking in general so will catch ya'll later!!

Tucker sorry I didn't have a chance to give you pre well wishes...But now that you're out and flying high - I'm very glad everything went well and they found the problem.  Keep a few of the pills for later use....a beer and some narcotics can be fun later in the future too.....haha.  Hey, keep telling Hilde that you are eating way too much and getting real real fat, slow and losing cardio really fast....Then run circles around her with a smirk on your face..cheering - COWTOWN BIATCH>>>WHAT YA THINK NOW????? LMAO.

Hope you feel better soon and the recovery is super fast!!!

DING, DING, DING!! THAT, my friends, is why Hilde is my BFF!! Or maybe because she IS that's why she knew what my acronym meant!!.... ;-)

Going to be left to my own devices today...Hubby going to work and all the kids to school. Oh no...what SHALL I do with myself? LOL

Oh, and I found out this morning around 4 a.m exactly WHY I should not go 8 hours w/o any hydro at this point!! Nature called...and I almost didn't make it to the potty hopping on one foot - then halfway back to the bed I couldn't take the pain and hubby had to pick me up and carry me back to bed. I am NOT one of those girls who DRESSES for bed either soooo....If I'd been a fly on the wall looking at the half neked man carrying the neked woman w/her foot in a sexy walking boot - I would have fallen on the floor laughing my arse off!! ;-))

So I took the afternoon off so I could get my Mini serviced (it's NOT just an "oil change", it's an "oil SERVICE" and has to be done at a Mini dealer).  Took a good book and it was done in an hour.  Got home and Ron had picked up the mail and there it was... OFFICIAL JURY SUMMONS.  I swear I have been called once a year for the past 3 years!!  I must have some magic driver's license number or something.  Oh well... I'm #504, so that means I should just have to sit through the spiel for a couple of hours and get free rest of the day off... and it's Nov. 14th and right after a 3-day weekend....

Mother, Just food for thought.....if you get a few speeding tickets, or possibly a Misdemeanor Marijuana Possession charge, you'd NEVER get picked for Jury Duty again....like, EVER!  NOT that I would know anything about the above mentioned.  Or, you could show up making very racy and inappropriate racial and/or profane outburts in a Tourettes type manner, and I'm almost sure you'd be promptly dismissed, and we could have coffee and breakfast together, maybe stop by Tucker's house and try her Vicodin out to make sure they are not defective...  Love youuuuuuuuuuuuu

joes - 2011-10-04 11:15 AM Wilson, you do know of course, you have to actually ride it if you buy one

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah - don't worry, I'll ride it!! Laughing  Glad all you guys liked the bike porn...The hard part is finding the bike in my size that I can ride it locally.....The first place I went to ride the Cannondale only had a very small size and 2 women's bikes...boooooo....I need a 58 - maybe a 60 so it's gonna be hard to find those 4 models available in my size......dunno.  May have to go to Chicago to one of the big bike stores and see if I can do better up there...Maybe Alex knows some places that would be good.  I have lots of time and I'm not in a big hurry.

Wilson, I ADORE my LBS: Get a Grip Cycles, over on Irving Park Road. The guys there know their stuff, are ALWAYS helpful, won't sell you stuff you don't need, and do professional fittings. Bought both my roadies there, and they're just fantastic. I recommend them HUGELY!!

Wilson, that is one AWESOME bike! So glad you got exactly what you wanted-- hope you and she have a long and fabulous relationship-- does she have a name yet?

Utterly INSANE week here-- but the upshot is that I had a blast at an audition Wednesday night and got the part the next day! Totally psyched-- it's for a staged reading of a brand-new play, and the play itself rocks. First rehearsal is tonight!

OK, I've updated my logs but have also been a total slug today, so will go off to get some lunch and then mark some papers before biking to nowhere. Then off to rehearsal I go, high ho!

Hope you're all having excellent weekends!

It's done! 4:42: something according to Garmin; will post it tomorrow. The course looked a lot hillier in person than it did on paper! Next time I do a first marathon, I'll be smart enough to pick a FLAT course! I feel good about how I did; only walked a few steps at the water stops so I could drink without dousing myself, and my fastest 5K split was the LAST one! It was a really fun race; the course was just as scenic as I thought it would be; Union square to Fisherman's Wharf, up past the Golden Gate Bridge, down the coast and through Golden Gate Park, down further and around Lake Merced, then back up the coast to the finish. It was overcast and cool (60s), really perfect for running. Afterward, I stopped by the hotel just long enough to clean up, headed to the airport, and got right on a flight. Was home in time for a celebration dinner at Outback with the family- the perfect ending to my day!

Thanks all for your support- I thought about you often out there and it helped me keep chuggin' along when things started to hurt!

Way to go Tammy!!!!!!!!  Awesome first marathon time!  I got really worried when the tracker stopped putting up splits and then couldn't find any results later on when I KNEW you had to be done.  I'll be interested to hear how sore and tired you are TODAY, ha ha!  I will be nice and excuse you from a couple of running workouts this week...  just take it easy on the donuts!  Outback is my FAVE restaurant but we don't have one in town... I LOVE their griller plates, it's been so long, I'm not even sure they still have them!  Rest and recover lady, you deserve it... and since you'll be eating bon bons too, just hang out and play Words with Friends with Tammy T!!

Hey Alex - I don't have a name yet - not sure if I will.  I need to ride it a little more to understand the bike's personality.  I'll tell you that she can handle being spit on and cursed at...Yesterday she heard many bad words and some prayers about the wind..haha

Congrats on getting the part you wanted - and so quick at that!!!  Awesome for you and I really hope you enjoy the whole process and continue the enthusiasm to the final night!!  You'll have to let us know when the performances are - my wife has been wanted to goto Chicago for a weekend around Christmas.
