D001 - 2008-10-28 11:32 AM I think Comeandgetit isn't feeling well. I'm off to take care of him. BBL!

Aaaw have fun with the puppy! (yes all dogs are puppies to me

Oh and Yanti - those pugs are adorable... they all look completely different personality wise!

I rrrrrrrrruv them! I have been caring for them nearly every day for over two years ... all of them are so friendly and lovable and cuddly but yes they are very, very different!

The old light-colored one, Mugsy, is like a fussy old grandpa that you adore.

The old dark-colored one is Gladys, and she is a PRINCESS!

The young light colored one is Boris, and he is full of energy and a talker.

The GP and her supervising doc think I either have one of 3:

1) a ligament tear

2) a hamstring tear

3) a bike/cleat fit issue

I have an appt. scheduled for Wed to deal with bike fit issues. But if its the other, my running days may be over Frown

Hey Scott!  How'd it happen?  On the bike or running?

Hey Scott that not such bad news!

Ive torn my hamstring before... if you rehab it properly with PT etc and rest initially, lots of stretching and find the underlying muscle imbalance youll get back up and running. I did mine in 2004 and Ive had no further problems with it since then!

Ligament issue: If its in the knee youll need an MRI or at least a good once over from the physio to determine the extent of the issue.. if its a minor tear it will heal itself... from there you do the rehab and get back into it. No big deal! Once again fix any underlying issues with PT and you are good to go...

Fit issue: Umm well I would expect there to be a differnt type of pain if this was the problem. This would feel like an overuse injury that starts a sa niggle nad become unbearable. It would feel very different to a hamstring tear or a ligament tear.

Was the doc you saw an  expert in sports med or a physio? Because thats a pretty diverse diagnosis from an expert in that area...

Just GPs... but, I haven't been on the bike in over a week and the knee/leg feel MUCH better than they did a week ago, and I just spent 8-10 hours a day for 3 days in a row walking all over Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure.

Thats a good sign!! just wanted to let yuo know that they gave you a weird diagnosis... if the fit doesnt do it make sure you see a physio next time or a sports doc!

Yep. She knows. In fact, she's been camping in front of Walmart for a week now, just to be the first one in line.
