If I'm napping at 11:30pm, I prefer it to be of the 7-8 hour variety. However NAPS ARE GOOD!!! It doesn't matter if they are planned or unplanned! |

(well, maybe not, i tend to repeat the things that im excited about, A LOT!) THE MOVIE. AVATAR. FRIGGING OUT THIS WORLD PHENOMENAL. maybe its just me, or where i'm at right now in my life, but...... WATCHING THAT MOVIE was TRANSFORMATIVE for me. ya. i REALLY get into movies that much. my family/friends make fun of me. im like a kid that way i guess. its interesting cuz people i know have seen it, and i either they have this very HIGHLY CHARGED reaction to it like i did, or they didnt like it. id say definately go into the movie with an open mind, and let yourself 'go' and be absorbed in the story line. JAMES CAMERON created a MASTERPIECE. im just saying. stacieb Edited by skrtrnr 2010-01-02 7:48 AM |

Afterwards, sat in the sauna for a bit just to get warm and stretch. Nice and relaxing. Stopped at Starbucks for a latte on the way home. Now I AM STARVING! Got to fix something to eat. Maybe some scrambled eggs. |

I have more than a bit of clausterphobia, so that didn't help. I took my mom and sister's kids last weekend. 15 mins in I was in trouble. I got so hot and dizzy I almost had to leave the theater. I had stripped down to the t-shirt I had under my sweater, taken the glasses off and trying to control breathing. The worst part is that none of the kids or my mom even noticed. I suppose if I'd stripped one more layer that would have gotten someone's attention, and also gotten me kicked out of the theater. That said, I made it through and agree it is an incredible piece of work...especially the animation. |

Glad to find out that is you....saw an entry from an unknown and thought we had an interloper. Love the new name! Hope you are feeling better. Wish I had some good home remedies for the cough. If your chest is congested, you don't want to suppress. Maybe try a hot towel on your chest. If it's a dry cough, maybe give the bourbon/honey another shot. A quick google search found lots of recommendations. http://www.natural-homeremedies.org/homeremedies-cough.htm |

I use this name other places, I'm trying to simplify so I asked Marmadaddy if I could change it. I should have done it IronAnneKidd, but this works, too. It's mostly a dry annoying cough. My chest hurts though from coughing so much. I'm trying to clean out my closet now, I have everything out of it, that's the easy part, now I need to figure out what goes back in. If I can get that done in the next hour or two I think I'm going to go to the Y and sit in the steam room for awhile. I like it in there anyway, and if it helps me breathe that's an added BONUS. I'm sure I'll be trying some more home remedies before I go to bed tonight, thanks for the link. |

A doctor that I shadowed basically told everyone this was the way to go for cough and chest congestion...especially with viral lower resp infections. I learned in pharmacology a few years back that the ingredient in "modern" cough syrups that acts as a cough suppressant doesn't have much more effect than placebo. Its DMT or something like that. So they don't really know if it actually works or if its the placebo effect. Haha...this is what I learn in class...Hcore drugs tend to work...like codeine...but that has its own side effects...and then there is buckleys...which uses camphor and strychnine or something the last time I looked...I think I decided to not take it just on that basis... Basically...I'm with you on the natural remedies to cough...I tend to just suck on cough candies and pretend they are doing something...then I fall asleep and annoy the rest of the house with my coughing...I can sleep and cough...its a talent Hope you get better soon Ann!! |

Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: The Ghoulie's: We Are Doing What We Are Loving December Challenge mndymond - 2010-01-02 1:02 PM I have found that cough medicine does nothing for anyone in my family. We used to get these menthol patches for the kids when they were smaller, they were the only things that would suppress their cough at night. Some kid tried to eat one and had a seizure and now they've stopped selling them. Even with cough drops I usually have to have 2 in to even make a dent in my cough. The honey and Bourbon worked for awhile this morning. I spent New Year's Eve doing Whiskey shots, they helped, until sometime in the middle of the night when they wore off. Hopefully some time in the steam room gives me some relief, and I'm thinking there will be alcohol before bed tonight. Maybe instead of a glass of water on the night stand I need to line up shots of Whiskey!Do you have any random facts on Hemochromatosis? What kind of doctor do you want to be when you're done with school?ironannekidd - 2010-01-02 10:46 AM kcarroll - 2010-01-02 12:25 PM ironannekidd - 2010-01-02 9:33 AM In case you haven't noticed I am no longer aspeelma, I am ironannekidd now.
