wgraves7582 - 2009-10-30 7:50 AM I would rather have a strong Spring race season:  TransIowa and Buffalo Marathon: than the bike ride next month.

This is good thinking right here ^^^^^

wgraves7582 - 2009-10-30 7:39 AM Getting old stinks!

x2 sadly

I just cannot believe the aches that I have recently.  It is funny actually but sad!

I'm 36 and have osteoarthritis. I've had 2 PT's and 3 Dr's tell me I'm too young to have my spine look like it does. I keep on running and biking though. My doc who is the runner told me she wasn't going to tell me to stop. We'll just keep injecting my spine as long as we can but I'll eventually need surgery. She said I'd need surgery whether I ran or sat on the couch, so I should just keep on running.

My back problems are why I'm leaning towards a tri bike. From what I've read the geometry would be better for my back. That's the argument I'm using with my husband.

Wow - that does not sound like fun.

Have you looked into that back stretch therapy (I cannot remember the term) at all or do they think it would not work?

I haven't heard of that. I can ask the next time I'm in. With the osteoarthrits and spinal stenosis I have I was just advised to strenthen my core as much as I possibly can. I've been doing Pilates, and I have the P90X DVD's I do the Ab Ripper X with those. Some days are worse than others, but all in all I think my back actually feels better when I work out.

Spinal Decompression is what it is called.  Took me a couple of minutes to remember.

That is my focus right now also (core).  I am sick of a sore back.

You did great this month in the challenge Ann and with the back issues I am even more impressed!

I'll have to look up the Spinal Decompression.

Thanks! I used to hate running, but I've really come to enjoy it. Between work, kids, household chores, hubbie, whatever else, I enjoy the time to myself to run and unwind.

Since it is Halloween and most of us are trying to avoid the sugary candy, I'm adding some eye candy for the ladies.
