Ended up not going to KC last night (going Friday instead) so I got to go on a group ride.  Had a good time even though it was 20+ mph winds.  I was worried I'd be playing catch up all day but was able to hang with the front.  Felt good.  Went for a swim afterwards and that wasn't the best but oh well.

On the one-legged drills, I was jolty too when I started. It's normal.  Just takes practice but it's definitely worth it.

I did some endurance snoozing this morning as I snoozed from 4:45am to 7:00am.  I believe I can count that as a core workout as I rolled and reached the alarm clock at least 12 times.  I also find it amazing how I turn into a mathematical genius as I can quickly calculate and re-calculate my intended workout based on 9 minute snooze intervals - "its 4:45 and I will snooze till 4:54 and get to the gym at 5:24 instead of 5:15, get my 30 minute workout and be done by 5:54." 9 MINUTES LATER - " OK its 4:54 and I will snooze till 5:03 and get to the gym at 5:33 instead of 5:24, get my 30 minute workout and be done by 6:03." and so on.... I wish I could be that efficient at work.  Maybe I just need to take an 8 hour nap during my work day.

I will have to get my run in after work today.

i have been busy so i have not been able to get online as much.  i am sorry to hear about the bad weather up north...again.  it looks like everyone is doing great with their training.

i have tried to increase my swimming volume and i am extemely tired.   it feels like i cant get enough sleep every night.  i hope it is a normal adaption process to all the training.

have a great day everyone.

I thought I was the only one that did calculations in my head with the snooze button... :-)  They say alot of companies are allowing their employees to take naps at work, maybe they are on to something.

Looking at your logs there is reason to be tired, When training I can never get enough sleep.  Nice job

20mph winds are rough, way to hang with the lead pack.   That is great you swim after a group ride, everytime I do a group ride I ride with the guys and most are exhausted afterwards and I try to run right after the hard effort.  They always give me crap for not riding with them all the time but I always invite them for a brick and to date no one has ran with me. lol

How many ride in your group?

I'm going to try and do more one legged drills then. Hopefully the more I do it, the better / smoother i'll get.

I'm thinking nutrition for my HIM. Anyone have any experience with Infinit? Good / bad / indifferent?

Tim - that is funny - hit the snooze twice this morning before getting up for work.

KC, Tim, Coach...No snooze button for me lately but not much in the way of workouts either.  I am getting back on the wagon tomorrow so i am happy about that.  Sorry for all the bad/cold weather.  But be thankful that it isn't in the 80's yet like here.  Hard to enjoy the spring with the heat and pollen/dust storms.

I have been getting up earlier for about two weeks now for one purpose in the hopes that it can become a regular routine.  That routine will slide into morning runs and rides before work.  I'll keep you updated.

Hey Team - hope you all had a nice day.

Court - good luck with the ramp up my friend.

Deb - wish I could help you with the nutrition question but I am interested to hear the feed back for future reference.

Short run and a swim for me today.

Tired, heading to bed.

KC

Its all personal preference, nothing works for everyone.  Best to buy a small amount incase it doesnt sit well with you.  I have tried it and hated it, one of my people I train loves it.

My new nutrition plan uses a product called bonk buster and they sit very well for me.  I have tried EVERYTHING and nothing sits as well as that and crustables.

Bring on the 80's for me the hotter the better, Ill take 100 before 50.  You will get back on the wagon just start in small steps.  Hang in there.

For me I get GI issues on most products, I can do 1 gel tops any more than that I get stomach issues.  I will ask them tomorrow but I think most people base things on taste and how they sit.  Its all about getting some easy calories.  You did it the correct way by only purchasing a little. One time I bought about 30 workouts of a product and couldn't keep one serving down. so I gave it away.

Anyone try dissolving your gels in water?  I use GU chocolate rage and it is really good and easy on my stomach.  Dissolve three or four in a small flask.  400 cals,   I also use Perptuleum bu Hammer.  Good stuff for the long haul.  I use the expresso because it has my beloved caffeine, which lowers RPE and acts as a pain blocker.   I bought an electrolyte powder to dissolve in the other stuff so I can quit playing with pills.  Also my coach has me using Carp Pro, which can be dissolved in anything...it's tasteless.

BTW, naps rock.  For one, I truly believe our bio rhythm is to get up and eat, hunt and return to the cave to nap through the hot part of the day, then up, eat, hunt again and tell stories at night.

Also, when we sleep, hormones are released that help heal tissue.  When you nap, you get two doses a day.  Therefore, I vote for naps!

We don't have a big group, maybe around 15 or so.  Kudos on running afterwards.  I feel spent during my swims so I can't imagine what it's like running.  It might be different if a better group.  I like the guys I ride with but they don't really understand pacelines and drafting too well.  It's like we're racing each other the whole time.

Carb pro is far from tastless (even though they claim) I use it but it leaves a chalky taste in my mouth.  I use a mixture of efs and water along with carb pro in a water bottle.  If I can keep it down it works great, only problem once it gets warm about 3/4 way the bike it starts to taste like s##t.

Those are fun to do a couple times per month. Just all out and drop the hammer, for training its not ideal but fun for cardio.  I upset people because I don't like being in a paceline so sometimes I hang off the back or side.  If I know everyone its ok, but if there are people that are doing all they can to hang up front thats when it gets scary.

I love my naps!  Working second shift I get to nap almost everyday after lunch.  My day just isn't complete without it.

I was able to swim 1000 yards continuous today!  I got lucky and I didn't even have to clear the fog out of my goggles or anything, I was able to just keep going.  Timed myself and I did all my 100 yards between 2:45 to 2:48, even at the end.  Not fast, but I'm pretty impressed that I was able to keep the same pace through out.

Good Evening Team.

I hope everyone had a great day. Just checking in to let you all know that if you don't see any messages from me for a couple of days it is because I am away for the weekend in Wallaceburg Ontario playing in another curling bonspiel. I am hoping to get a swim in tomorrow night before our first draw at a pool I found in the area.

I may try to check in on my blackberrry just not sure when I will have the time.

Have a great weekend everyone. I hope you all accomplish whatever it is you want. Be safe.

KC
