I'm sure there will be lots of whining, but when our allies don't live up to their end of the agreement, it hurts America. We finally have an adult coming to the White House who is going to enforce the rules. |

I'm with you that the oil subsidies need to stop as well, but at least American citizens/companies benefit from those subsidies. The direct and indirect subsidies for countries all over the world is just dumb at a whole new level. This isn't just an Obama thing either, it goes far deeper and longer than his tenure. |

Purely from a defense standpoint I don't mind being involved as we always have been until things stabilize up, but them cutting a check for us to continue to provide the same services shouldn't be a neighborhood destabilizing thing. |

This has to do with world security post WWII. The argument can be made that strong US foreign policy has kept the lid on a major war since 1945. While we could afford this mid-20th century and had the cold war to further support the spending, we can no longer afford this level of military support around the globe and the memories of WWII are fading. |

Everyone should want CNN, CBS, MSNBC, Huffpo, Politico, Mother Jones, as well as, Fox, Breitbart, Infowars, WND and any other "new" outlets to have access to our government. In order to have an accountable political class, you need people to ask hard questions. Liberals hated when Major Garrett questioned Obama because he often asked the toughest questions in the press pool. First amendment rights are a foundation of this country and we must be careful to respect that. But the president's statements carry more weight than any media outlet. There's no need to silence anyone. Anything he says is circulated and scrutinized and it will never get drowned out by other voices. Once Trump has stepped into the role, I think he will understand that. |

Pro 15655 | Subject: RE: Election 2016 The day I was no longer naive about the media: Nearly 9 years ago, some time after my city had annexed a very poor, 98% black, neighborhood of public housing and crime, a man walked into our city coucil meeting and killed 7 of my co-workers, including 2 Police Officers. This came on the heals of another of our Officers being shot to death in the annexed neighborhood. For weeks we were the center of CNN, Fox news, and every major news outlet. For years after that we were subjected to DOJ and public scrutiny for everything we did, or ever had done. (although we hadn't shot or killed anyone in decades). About the time things had just started to settle down we had a Police pursuit that ended only when we shot the driver, who was armed only with his car. I was off that day and rushed in knowing that a chit storm was coming. The news started calling before we were even away from the scene......and nobody came. We had shot a guy from a "white trash" meth area and nobody cared. It didn't even make the local television news. I could relate story after story of what I have seen from the media as they report the "news"......the problem is we, as a society, have allowed them to decide for us what is news and what isn't, based on how we tune in. In order for something to actually BE news it must fit 2 criteria, and neither alone is good enough. 1. It has to be something that people will watch without turning the channel 2. It has to fit the agenda of the particular "news" outlet carrying the story. I think what we have allowed these people to propagate in the name of news is disgusting.....and mostly it has turned us against each other. I would like to see President Trump ignore the media and grant ZERO interviews. I would like to see the rest of society follow suit. Yes, our constitution stands for a free and unfettered press.......but once they stopped reporting in an equal and non-biased manner........to hell with them. We're all better off without them. Yes, our constitution stands for a free and unfettered press.......but once they stopped reporting in an equal and non-biased manner........to hell with them. We're all better off without them. For me it was about 8 years ago. I was contacted by local the media to be interviewed on a positive piece they were doing for people that are trying to recover from sexual addiction after jail. I have dedicated many years to help men with this issue and thought it would be a great opportunity to get the word out on programs available and also dissuade some of the fears people have of sexual based offenders who are getting out of jail. I was interviewed for more than an hour and had a great dialog with the interviewer and felt really good about how I represented things. Next thing you know they're pumping a story about how sex offenders are a menace to society and even people who work with them agree. They took one statement I made in over an hour of interviews where I said something like "some of these people are beyond hope" and that was the only clip of me they played to bolster their preformed conclusion about this class of people. I was seething mad and of course the media wouldn't retract anything or even take my calls. This summer I went to several Trump rally's and I saw the media preying upon people repeatedly. They would look for the most mentally handicapped/stereotypical redneck "out there" individuals and push them for interviews and force them to defend outright lies about Trump. I was so pissed once, I cut in front of the cameraman and asked them if they'd like to interview somebody who could actually challenge them on their lies and they said no and walked away looking for another victim to push their agenda about Trump supporters. |

No different than Black Panthers within the BLM movement, and I know you are not any more behind them than I would be with Nazi's within the Alt-right movement. It's the fringe on both sides. As for Bannon......I'm not ready to call him a Nazi any more than I would call Holder a Black Panther......although I doubt Bannon will do any better bridging the divide than Holder did.....and like Holder, will likely make it worse. The only real difference is that the shoe is now on the other foot. |

You need to take it easy on the control left websites. The movement that's out there now is so far left, it's not even liberal or progressive anymore it's all about bigotry and control. The primary method of invoking this control is through labeling and personal attacks against individuals who you don't agree with. Steve Bannon is a Nazi? That is the stupidest thing ever and is way worse than saying Obama isn't born in America or that he's really a muslim. Dave, get out of the fringe or I'm going to send you a roll of tinfoil. |
