Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED Just finished my 1000 yd swim time trial and I'm disappointed at how slow I actually am. I think I may have done an extra 50, but even so, the 10 secs per 100 I thought I had lost is back, and it brought along some extra seconds to keep it company. :-( |

I bought a small amount at the expo, but have yet to try it on a long ride/ run For me I get GI issues on most products, I can do 1 gel tops any more than that I get stomach issues. I will ask them tomorrow but I think most people base things on taste and how they sit. Its all about getting some easy calories. You did it the correct way by only purchasing a little. One time I bought about 30 workouts of a product and couldn't keep one serving down. so I gave it away.
Anyone try dissolving your gels in water? I use GU chocolate rage and it is really good and easy on my stomach. Dissolve three or four in a small flask. 400 cals, I also use Perptuleum bu Hammer. Good stuff for the long haul. I use the expresso because it has my beloved caffeine, which lowers RPE and acts as a pain blocker. I bought an electrolyte powder to dissolve in the other stuff so I can quit playing with pills. Also my coach has me using Carp Pro, which can be dissolved in anything...it's tasteless.
Carb pro is far from tastless (even though they claim) I use it but it leaves a chalky taste in my mouth. I use a mixture of efs and water along with carb pro in a water bottle. If I can keep it down it works great, only problem once it gets warm about 3/4 way the bike it starts to taste like s##t.
That's interesting. I don't have that experience at all. Carbo Pro (not carp pro, ick) is totally tasteless to me. I have been mixing it in the calorie free Powerade. That's why we have to check things out for ourselves, I guess. Everyone has different taste buds. Got to find what works for ourselves. For example, I have a hard time eating anything solid when I'm running. The Gu dissolved in water, the Perpetuleum, the Heed, the Carbo Pro, all work good. Plus, since I sweat like a fiend, I get to replace liquid at the same time.

So many things can affect out workouts...lack of sleep, not enough pre-workout calories (my downfall), just feeling down for one reason or another...So don't let it get into your head. You'll get it done. Also, the wet suit helps shave seconds off in the water. It's all good.

Extreme Veteran 1700 Normal, Ill. | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED For my own week, it was good. Hard threshold workouts on the bike, a 3 hour trainer ride last Sunday, some good runs, swimming is getting crowded...need to try for a longer swim this weekend... The coach has me using spin scan on the bike ....it honest to god analyzes the pedal stroke 360 degrees both legs so you can see if you are choppy or not. He says I am crunching too much. You can set the program to show a series of 24 bars that are supposed to be straight across if you are smooth. It shows my left left is weak at the start of the stroke downward. Amazing how you can watch the bars and see yourself getting smoother. Long way to go. Have a good weekend. Today is a rest day. Movie and dinner. Date night! |

The next time you are in the water and you kick of the wall after 100, just think of passing me, while I am sitting there resting - that should cheer you up LOL. Edit and addition to my post. Since I have already bored most of you with my swimming expoits, I was going to take a break from doing that for a while but what the hell - here is some more video of me as I continue on my journey to become a swimmer. This is from this past Tuesday at the pool here at the college. I have already shared it with Dave and since I shared other youtube clips with you in the past, why not share this as well. As always, your honest feed back is much appreciated Have a great weekend everyone. KC

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED Thanks Scott / KC. I do wonder if no fuel could have been part of the problem. I had planned on eating some toast w/ peanut butter before I went. Apparently, at some point after I went to bed last night, my daughter decided on a PBJ and polished the lot off. On the other hand, I could just be slow. Keith - my time was 23:26. The more I think about it, the more I'm sure I did an extra 50. I started before the girl I was with and I know I lapped her, yet we finished at the same time. Regardless, it puts my time far far away from the 1:50 / 100 I was getting. Next week is my swim focus week in the plan, then I have to re do the TT in a couple of weeks. Should be interesting. Great to hear what others do/don't like as far as fueling. I find all the little info helpful - thanks team |

Extreme Veteran 424 Lockport, IL | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED Wow - big implementation starting tonight at work and it's been a helluva week. I missed a few workouts but plan on getting back into it today. Found a pastor in FL that is also a triathlete, so I'm going to use him. Bought Road IDs for my fiance and I and since we're so close to the wedding, I thought I would just put her future married name on hers. She doesn't want to put it on until after the wedding. With this Road ID, I thee wed??? |

We won our first game 11-1 (bit of a blow out). I also managed to find that pool in this town and get a short swim in before we curled - which was nice and relaxing. Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone. KC |

Veteran 156 CLAREMORE, Oklahoma | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED Finally got my new ride yesterday. I ended up with a 2009 instead of a 2010 (won't bore you with the details). It's the same bike but the color is better on the 09 so I'm happy. Ride-wise, it's fantastic. I didn't get much of a chance to really try it out cause the weather sucked here yesterday but what little I did ride was great. It's a lot lighter than my old bike and I really notice on the hills. Aero-position feels good too. Can't wait to really get moving on it. (IMG_0439.JPG) Attachments ---------------- IMG_0439.JPG (87KB - 8 downloads) |

Love new bikes. Have fun.
2 hours yesterda on the bike with 3 sets of 1 X 2 mins @ 125% then 1 X 10 mins @ 75% tempo, 2 mins recovery and 1 X 10 mins @ 100%. LT. Then ran 7.5 miles. Ate 400 cals on the bike and run. Felt strong at the end, legs a bit wasted.
3 hour tempo spin at 65% today. Then I may add a long swim. I know I should.

Extreme Veteran 424 Lockport, IL | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED 8.3 miles today. Last week was an absolute trainwreck. The implementation planning last week put a stop on all training. What a mess. Ah - well. The run felt really good but I was surprised that I covered the distance so easily. That's the furthest I've run in abot 2 years. The implementation started Friday night and is going really well so things should slack off considerably. Hope everyone is doing well! |

Master 1790 \Windsor, Ontario | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED Hey Team. I hope everyone is well and that you all had a great weekend. I am ready to get back to training on Monday after a long weekend of curling. However, it was very exciting 2 and half days. Long story short, my team won the Crazy Legs Wallaceburg Ontario Curling Bonspiel. The team curled great, worked hard and in the end we came out victors. Last official curling league night tomorrow, playoffs next week so no swim on Monday, but I will get a run and a bike in for sure. Caleb, nice bike. Coach - did you buy a new house and barns at an auction - wow - congrats if that is the case. How exciting for you, your wife, your dogs and your toys. Rob - congrats on the implementation hope it all works out. Have a great week everyone. KC
Caleb - very nice bike!

Extreme Veteran 828 North Shore, MA. | Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSED I had heard that paople laugh at triathletes and all their 'getup'. But I couldn't work out what was so darn funny. Yesterday I went for a run with my fuelbelt strapped to my waist, dayglow jacket and gloves, running tights that are too tight for me to be wearing, and my garmin. Today, I rode my bike with my dayglow jacket, cycling helmet, cycling pants and booties covering my shoes and as I passed my car, and got sight of myself in the glass, I wondered if maybe they had a point. On the upside, I tried the infinit on Saturday's run. Felt fine on my tummy, I plan on getting some more and keep trying it out, it just seems so easy. My general nutrition is AWFUL though. I think I have gained around 10lbs. Not a clue where to go on this one. Edited by cheekymonkeys1 2011-03-27 8:45 PM |

We actually bought the property for the barns on it and it happens to have a house. We are staying in our current home. The price we paid for it was cheaper than the cost to build 1/2 of a barn let alone 2 large one and a small one.
Deb, I am guessing property in Ohio is just a tad cheaper than in NY.. LOL Thats great the infinit worked, its supposed to be good stuff. As for the tri outfits they are alittle goofy. I make fun of myself all the time in them. Sorry no guy looks good in spandex. lol
