Too bad the challenge is over.  I just had a great 5K race today, and while not making my goal, was way closer than I'd been, and was almost 2 minutes faster than my time from earlier in the week.  I finished in 32:54, and my previous best was 34:48 or something.

Oh well.

It was fun all, and I hope your training goes well, as do your races this year.

Thanks!  I was sure I'd do way worse, with adding hills, and having worked the night before, and being fat and slow.  And I didn't even have pace booty.  I mean, I suppose I could have, but it would have been either the guy that I work with that I talked into running, or his wife.  Neither were really appropriate I thought.  O:

Well my super hero powers didn't help me on my tri sat. Worse run in a tri to date! But I had a lot fun doing it! What I learned is that I need to run more hills.  URGH.

Well, there are lots of "hills" in Hawaii, right? Some of them are slightly, um, "active," even.

I see you have a new avatar, too!

I know! You would think I could handle them by now! They made me feel old.

Sorry all.  My being sick early, and setting a huge goal was by far the reason we didn't win.  You can all take turns tasing me if you'd like.  Just keep it away from the daddy parts please.

Hey, we were over one-hundred percent. So, as far as I'm concerned, we're WINNERS!

Yay SCUDASH!

Yeah, BUT being winners and being THE WINNERS are 2 different things.  Sort of like anyone that finished an IM is an Ironman, but you're not the winner of the race.

And I'm quite proud of being an IM, and will be again in another 19 weeks.  Nothing wrong with that.  That's more than many peeps can say.

Yeah, definately you should be proud of that.  It's an awesome accomplishment.  I was just trying to point out that there's a difference from being THE winner, to A winner.

Even for me in this challenge, I hardly got past 50% of my goal, but I also picked a crazy goal.  But it put me in a good position for my first 5K, and I did better in that than I'd ever done for a time during the challenge.  So I feel good about how I did, but know I also killed the team's % number with my low one.
