adbru - 2010-06-10 12:08 PM Hi guys,

Hope the sunburn is healing !

Did my 5.4mile loop again on tuesday, pushed it quite hard and got 44mins so heading in the right direction Laughing
Ended up horseriding for an hour yesterday morning, once again got some unusual sore bits Embarassed

Went out for a bike ride with the boss at lunchtime (that way its ok to be late lol),
Did a 14 mile hilly route and averaged 14.2mph, happy with that as the first half had 800ft of climb in 3 miles !!
Somehow the downhill on the other side didnt make up for the pain during the climb !!

Hope to do another bike tomorrow, last night shift tonight then 6 days off Cool

How Victoria looking just now ??Its now almost 3 years since we were there Cry
Need to get back again, if you get the chance the 'hornet racing' up at the speedway is a good laugh.

Serious question (sorry), I know some others are planning a 70.3 around september time.... What level is your training at ?
I havent looked at my plan now for around 6 weeks and am just 'winging it'!
aim is to 'cycle lots, swim lots and run a bit' ..... not very scientific lol.

run safe

Adbru

Horse riding=ow

My 70.3 is Aug 1. Right now I'm trying to ramp up my volume and increasing my single session volumes. I've got 2-3 more 3+ hr bike rides (prob 1 3hr, 1 3.5hr, 1 4hr)...my gluteus has smartened up, so hopefully I'll be able to increase my run volume again. And then swimming...well is swimming for me. All in all I'm at about 3-4hrs swim/week, 5-6hrs bike/week and I would like to be a 3-4hrs running a week...but right now only at about 2hrs due to my butt.

swim--split up into 2 shorter sessions 1500m-2000m, 1-2 longer sessions 3000m +
bike--split up into 1 short ride 30-45min, 2/3medium rides--1-2hrs, 1 long ride--2.5-4hrs
run--split into 2 short runs--around 5km, 1-2 med runs--around 10km and 1 long run 12-20km.

At least thats how I have it split up in my head. Some weeks are more of one and less of another depending on the plan. I'm a silver member and using the oly-HIM bridge plan. I'm not sure what there is for free plans for HIM.

Hope that helps!

sorry to hear about the broken toe !
I've been lucky as the worst injury i've had at martial arts has been a cracked rib....

did a 31mile (52km??) bike on sunday. Equaled my longest ride ever.
2:04 for an average speed of 15mph. then tagged a 3 mile run on the end to make it into a brick session Innocent
felt tired but ok afterwards (but VERY hungry - yum yum)

now had two days off, horseriding again this morning so maybe a swim tonight...

keep at it chaps Cool

You did great! Well done

I signed up for my FIRST Xterra.  Nervous but excited! Great course I hear and #1 Xterra in the country too.  Fun part for me is swimming to an island, getting out, running across it and back into the water again.    Can't wait.

How is everyone elses training going?   I have a 5K swim coming up next month.  I also bailed on my HIM, will do it next year. Changed to the Oly instead with some cash left over, so that's how I managed to get the Xterra registration done.

Thanks Lynne! I'm sure the Xterra will be awesome!

Good choice with changing the HIM to an Oly! 2 races for the price of 1!

Morning All :-)

my training is still a bit erratic !!
And now we are into July !
ran a 5.4mile loop the last two days, I need to leave for work in 3 hours and in that time have a load of domestic stuff and also try to fit in a cycle lol.

I think july will make or break my HIM attempt......

How did the 101km ride go ??  50km is still my longest  :-(

Hey Adrian! Hope you are able to train a bit more consistantly this month!

The ride went well. I did a fairly rolling course with some solid climbs. 1-2 longer rides left this month and a bunch of higher intensity medium distance rides. Need to bring up my run volume in the next 3 weeks too!
