doctorbob18 - 2009-08-14 8:55 PM Had a really fun ride tonight. Rode up probably my favorite climb in the area. A 4 miler thats a consistent 7-8%, its a real grind all the way to the top. Its fairly twisty too so you get through one section and its just more climbing, it never lets up. I was having so much fun going up that I decided I would come back down and do it again! My elevation profile from the garmin looks like a giant M

You know you're a tri-freak when....
I've come to the realization I like hills more than the flat fast pancake rides.  Sadly I have to drive a bit to find some good ones.  Sounds like you had a great ride - way to go!

I'm a little behind on the bike but over 100% on run and close on swim. I got in a 2 hr ride (which alone is 10% of my goal) I'll get there.
Also got a little OWS in. Happy training everyone!

Today's swim was a huge bust. We headed down to this river I heard would be a good place for some OWS. The water was too shallow in many places to swim. After about 20 min we stopped trying. I probably wouldn't even consider it training if I weren't so far behind with swim sessions :/

After we got the wetsuits off we decided to do some riverbank hiking up to a waterfall to make the trip worthwhile. It was definitely fun, but we only had flipflops which we quickly shed, so now my feet are extremely sore. Due to this I decided to push todays run to tomorrow.

Whoops... so this month has completely gotten away from me.
So sorry, guys - I know I've been an awful teammate.

I don't know how much of my goal I'll be able to tackle at this point, but I'll work out a plan for the next 15 days and do my best to recoup some of the time I've lost.  My goal was 8 yoga sessions (no pool access until next month), 8 bike, 6 run, and 10 strength. I've only done 1 run in the last two weeks, so I've got a lot of work ahead...

Just ran 6 miles in some serious heat. Usually I enjoy working out in when its hot, but I started the day somewhat dehydrated so today it got to me just a little. Still a good run though.

I'm hoping I get out of work tonight with time to go to the pool. Its been way too long since I had a pool workout.

No pressure ,  don't overdo it  trying to catch up ,  just train at your pace and allow for rest and recovery ,  and enjoy your time in the saddle /running /lifting weights  .

Well my challenge goals just took a major hit tonight. After work I thought I could fit in maybe 30 minutes of swimming so I drove all the way out to the highschool only to find the pool will be close until after Labor Day. Yikes! Theres no way I can get 10 sessions in now because its the only pool within reasonable driving distance that I can use late at night. I'll talk to wgraves about adjusting my goal, but either way I'm pretty bummed out.

I came home and did shoulders/triceps to make use of the night.

Just added another 5 miles to the run total!

I'm thinking I should have at least *tried* a deep water aqua fit class before committing.  So bloody boring and I feel a waste of a good hour.  I might just do the remaining 4 classes all in a row to finish the challenge off!

Next weeks vacation will screw up my schedule a bit eek!

Hope everyone's week is off to a good start!

Oh it's mind numbing alright!  I usually set mine up in front of a win so I at least feel like I'm outdoors, then I pop a video into the portable DVD player and make sure the subtitles are on (something motivating like American Flyers etc) and THEN I listen to tunes the whole time.  I need all three to get through an hour.  If one fails - the ride goes to pot!  Enjoy!!!
