Yes, I'm going to decorate.  I bought sprinkles.

We are having a happy hour/dinner for my birthday tomorrow after work.  Should be fun.

Awesome that sounds like fun!! And cupcakes are small...so you just have to have more than one

Ok - just to talk cycling AGAIN.... I just ran into our comms manager here for sport.. all the news out of France is Cadel CAN do it....from some respected sources too...

Im still very very nervous...

It's a long TT. And he's good at TT's. So yeah, I'd tend to agree with that. (Unless he's not good at longer distances, but I don't think that's the case.)

Sastre would do wonderfully if the TT was, say, 31 miles up the side of Alpe d'Huez. LOL

Sometimes suxxor days turn around  So yeah, I was real pizzy this afternoon.  I've never... NEVER, had an issue in the water.  I was getting near 150k issue free yards this year (outside of the general lap swimming boredom).  So when my arm went numb today, I was more angry that I had something wrong than actually wondering what it might be.  Anway.... flash forward to tonights official re-organiztation of the local tri club meeting complete with beer and pizza.  What happened?  Here's the rundown in Nibbs Notes fashion:

1.  Finally got to meet two other BTers in the area when we didn't have our helmets and sunglasses on (kvesey and aphloris).  Karen (kvesey) is starting to ramp up her Ironman training, complete with her hubby jockstrapping right along.  Andrew (aphloris) is gearing up for his first HIM in September.  Oh, Cat Vanderkitten, he's 24 and about to start his last year of pharmacy school.  FAST triathlete, too.  Good with the bike.  Jus' sayin ya know

2.  I volunteered to be the training comittee director for Rankin County (this club covers a three county area).  Basically, I'll be in charge of rides, maps, swims, runs, bricks, clinics, etc.  All kinds of ideas swimming in my head right now!  I figured this was the path that could possibly lead up to a distance swim event.

3.  Found out about a local Masters swim club that I didn't know existed.  I'll be changing gyms and pools in the near future.

4.  Found a contact at an ad agency that is hiring, which could lead somewhere for the fiancee when she moves down here  The contact is the girl who was my coach for the Mardis Gras Marathon with TNT.  She also happens to be a super fast triathlete.  Fast as in she was pizzed she only got second in the women's overall at the last OLY I did.

5.  Pizza and Beer.  Really, that was all that was needed, but we got some good stuff planned.

6.  The communications guy had some awesome ideas for a website and message board.  I had a vision of us having a mini-BT for the area, and everything he said to me was EXACTLY what I was thinking.  There are a lot of people from the area doing the New Orleans HIM, and we're making a push for more to sign up.  So the plan is to center the site around it for the time being, as well as for the beginner sprint that the group hosts.  AWESOME!

7.  The numbness in my arm.  Found out what it was.  Turns out you can pinch some vertabrae or something if you ride with your head looking up too high while in aero.  Seeing as how most of my riding lately has been on Marie while looking way up at the tour on TV (which is on top of the fireplace), I'm pretty sure that's the problem.  Solution?  Move the furniture around so I can move the trainer farther back.

8.  The rumors are true.  Within two years, they want to host a HIM here
