Back to work time - I was supposed to have an off day today but since I didn't do my run yesterday, it got moved.  Fortunately, it is pretty darn nice out today so I am not too bummed.

Have a great Friday everyone!

LOL!  I might have a case of that as well.  One of my dinners earlier this week was a plate of cookies and a glass of milk

Well, C is for cookie and that's good enough for me!  I am decidely old school and cookies are not just a sometimes food.  (I still can't believe they make cookie monster say that now.  It's like some happy part of my childhood has been corrupted.)

Sigh...we live in a 'politically correct' world and everyone is 'sue-happy.'  PBS has to protect themselves, you know...

Thanks for all the well wishes team, but...

I'm an idiot.  Unbelievable.  Just another confirmation of our busy summer.  Got to Gear West last night and they couldn't find my registration.  I left the line, went out to the car, booted up my laptop and searched my bank statements on-line to find the credit card transaction as proof of registration.  Registration opened mid-March, I found Minneman & Square Lake registration, registration for Turtleman 2008...and then it dawned on me...a few days before Turtleman registration opened up we had the incident with credit card fraud, so I waited until all the invalid charges were removed from our account and we got the new card activated before I registered for races.  Registered for several races after that point and somehow mentally convinced myself that I registered for Turtleman...but alas...race is sold out...has been for months.

Today starts my training for Square Lake tri...

I will be registering for WhistleStop marathon and a replacement duathlon THIS WEEKEND...

That's a complete bummer!  At least you seem to be taking the right approach to handling it.  Even 24 hours later, I think I'd still be throwing a hissy fit at myself.

Well, hopefully I still have another 20+ years of racing in me.  At close to 8 races a year (running and tris), THAT'S 160 MORE RACES (in my best Billy Mays voice...may he rest in peace)!!!  I can afford to skip one...

That is an incredible attitude!  Love it

I woke up this morning and did one of those full body yawns/stretches and my right calf completely seized up on me.  Ouch!  Ouch! Ouch!  It hurts to walk now.  So I'm ditching the bike ride in favor of the pool for now.  Sometimes I just have to laugh at myself.

I took some sleep meds last night and didn't wake up til 9 this morning! It's already blistering hot so I'll either run tonight or tomorrow morning. Sunday was already a rest day, so it won't kill me if I switch it up. Sleep is wonderful

I'm jealous.  I'm thinking of sleeping in tomorrow but I have a ride that should get done before it gets too warm out

hi everyone! sorry I haven't written anything yet I have been vacationing in Nova Scotia Canada, I was amazed to see so many pages already in our thread. My name is Elayna and I just did my first sprint tri this year and already planning my second at the end of this month. I figured I would give it a try as a way to get back in shape after having my daughter (who is a year old). Soccer player by training, thought I would try something that would push me to push myself. Hope everyone is having a great start to the month!

Okay, this REALLY made me laugh out loud... because I am laughing with you... you can tell when you are perhaps older than a certain age when you can hurt yourself while doing a morning yawn/stretch.  Been there, done that...

Awesome workout!

Yep, I drive past Turtle park when I go to/from work when in town.  The signs "Bike Route" and "Triathlon this Weekend" were just taunting me.

Then, we had such rough thunderstorms in the early morning... as I drove to the airporte, I wondered if the triathlon somehow was able to be held???
