Ugh nook's not working.  unplugged it from my computer since it said 100% charged and it doesn't respond... now I have to figure out how to fix it/ask the bf with his technology skills to look at it.

I was wondering about a challenge for next month too - and ditto on the lack of crappy winter weather! Plus its technically summer here soon anyway

Well I just looked it up and it says that it probably a bad battery.  When it's plugged in the battery has a question mark on it but the settings say 100% charged which apparently is usually a sign of a bad battery.  Wonder how much a new one costs.

Torment by Lauren Kate.  Read the first one in the series (Fallen) and loved it so I'm hoping this one's going to be just as good.

Just googled it, mythical romance kind of thing...? Maybe I'll add it to my "to read" list

It's 81 degrees here today... I'm really sick of hot weather.  I want real fall weather, the kind where you can wear hoodies in.

It's good I really like it... I have so many books on my "to read" list right now but school's interfering with actually getting to read them.

Yeah, everything else in my life interferes too. I take a book to bed with me each night but usually only make 1/2 pages before I fall asleep.

Kinda want to have a jump roping goal for next month.  Got a jump rope a awhile ago and havent used it too much but found a lot of workouts that sound fun that have jump rope segments in them... Maybe I'll try some out in November.

I have a mini practice tri with a local tri club tomorrow, at a lake, and I am so nervous. a) I don't know anyone and b) I hate OWS. Mostly because I'm scared of sharks (been in the ocean a total of 5 times in 2 years of being in Australia), and I realise its a lake, there aren't any but I know how irrational I am when in the water and I can't see anything and I'm such a slow swimmer....

Oh, that would be a good one. I suck at skipping, which isn't great as its warm up of choice often in muay thai gyms.... I'm starting at a new one on Monday and their first impressions of me (and I know they judge, we all do when new people start at a mt gym) will be my idiotic skipping attempts!

I hate OWS too.  First time I did an OWS was my first tri and I had such a panic attack I almost quit the race 50m into the swim... glad I didn't but it was one of the scariest moments of my life.  I have a huge fear of open water and don't get me started on sharks lol.  I'm sure it'll be fine.  It'll be a great way for you to meet new people and get more comfortable with OWS.

A friend was supposed to be coming with me (she is doing her first, and probably only tri in Dec with me) but she has had to pull out so its taking all of my will power to make myself go!

How many tris have you done?

I'm about the same then, did my first last April and then the season here ended so first one of this season will be in Dec. I've done a lot of running (not very well, but enthusiastically) in the past, 10ks are my fav but have done 3 halfs and 1 marathon. I like to set goals for new years rather than have resolutions so I was thinking my goal for 2011, sport wise, will be 3 tris, the Noosa 180km bike race, Gold Coast marathon (I hate that distance but feel I need to do better than last time) and 4 fights (muay thai) - I think that lot should keep me out of trouble!

I know it will be good for me, I really do, just nerves....

2010s sport goals were simply to have my first tri and I will have done 2, and my first fight, and the same goes, so quite happy with that. Financial targets are also on track for the year, now if only my career goals were completely on track too then it would have been an awesome year!
