Subject: RE: Pesky PengiunsHeya guys. Good news is I now have a good chlorine aroma (do you think anyone would buy that as a perfume or cologne? it could be the first in a series...eu de triathlon) so the pool's smell was back to it's lovely over-chlorinated self. So I did a tad more than normal. Okay an extra 50 yards, but I swam for my longest continuous. I did 1000 yards in a pathetically slow 27:37 after doing 700 yards of warm up and drills (I'm working on stopping my slight sinking on breathing by doing better rolls with help of the pull buoy and keeping my head facing to the bottom of the pool). Anyway, the distance wasn't bad and I probably could have gone father, but my shoulder was getting sore. And seeing as I was up most of the night at the firehouse (including my favorite type of call...the car accident with no injuries...get to ride fast and blow through red lights but don't have to do any patient care!) I think it went pretty well. As for my goal, I'm 81% done. I have 2 more swims planned and that will put me over the top for my 15000 yards for the month. As for next month's challenge, I'd love anything that would let me do running. I have the hardest time motivating myself there since I generally dislike it since it hurts alot, so I can always use that incentive. I'm off to my grandfather's tomorrow for Christmas. Since he thinks the internet is the spawn of the devil, unless I can find an open wireless connection (but then again most of his neighbors are kinda old so doubting it), I won't be online until I get back on Wednesday. I hope everyone that celebrates it has a great Christmas and that you find lots of nice tri stuff in your stocking (too bad a bike won't fit in there). I know Santa is bringing me a Garmin 305 so I'm happy. And if you're traveling stay safe. And most of all, don't kill any annoying relatives. I know it's tempting, but I don't think there are triathlons in jail! Just use the excuse and drink liberally if you are so inclined!
