D001 - 2007-12-13 8:19 PM Actually, the visitors at the pool were.... um.... yeah.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. And you swam anyway? You're so hardcore. I think you coulda had a hall pass on that.

Hi Mila! I figured it was safer in the pool than on the deck. Eww x300000. How's your son? I'm just reading your log now.

My husband took him and I haven't heard anything yet .  I really think he's OK, though... mostly precautionary.  My father was a pediatrician and I tend to channel him a lot.  I pretty much got a medical degree by osmosis by listening to him when he was on call.  Here are a few things I learned:

- Popsicles cure a lot of things.
- My dad never saw a bride walk down the aisle with a pacifier or thumb in her mouth nor did he ever meet an adult who only ate mac and cheese.
- Sometimes you can't fix what's wrong with a kid... it's hard to issue a replacement mother and/or father.
- I know everything you ever wanted to know and more about Munchausen Syndrome By Proxy... with the possible exception of how to spell it.
- If a child falls from a distance no greater than his/her own height, very rarely is there a problem.
- When it comes to heads, outward swelling is far better than the alternative

With that said, the enormous goosebump right above his eyebrow (small head hits tile floor) didn't pass the test of "is it smaller than his palm?" so our doctor wanted him seen as a precaution, particularly since it was close to his eye.  However, he was acting fine and we gave him several medicinal popsicles and he has taken along his therapeutic thumb.

Hubby came home earlier. And now I'm going to sit and chat with him in the hot tub. Hasta manana, Nibbins! And thanks for all the hair advice. Hubby doesn't give a rat's a$$ as long as I don't shave my head lol.

Hi. That is all for now. It's been a torturous day (yeah, it did, in fact, get worse!) so I'm just trying to ignore the huge mess in my house that I should be dealing with while waiting for my husband to return from the ER with Exhibit C (I *think* he's OK and it's just a precautionary visit). You know, Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta is likely thinking of giving us a permanent spot in the waiting room.

Make a list. Put the worst thing as #6. Then cross it out. Because we all know.....

LMAO... that is a FABULOUS idea!

kaqphin - 2007-12-13 4:57 PM So whats everyone got planned for the weekend?

Sleep.  I almost fell asleep in a meeting today.

12 mile run on Saturday morning.  Christmas party with some friends on Saturday night.

I am not swimming tonight.  Just not gonna work out.  I'm beat.  (I sound like spokes...you know we love ya spokes!)

Actually my son and I are doing the 'ding dong ditch' thing tonight.  It's called 'The 12 days of Christmas.'  You drop off small gifts to good friends on their front doorstep, and try not to get caught doing it.  You drop off 12 small gifts every day until Christmas.  My son LOVES it.

Whata fabulous tradition!!!!

The boy toy asks sooooo very little of me, but the one thing he is vocal about is me not cutting my hair.  Fortunately for him, I like it long and thinks it looks better that way 'cause otherwise I'd cut it in a heartbeat!

Evening, nibs!

Thanks, Sal, I feel loved. *sniff*

Thanks for remembering me, Beth. Mwaa.

Heather--you know plasma TVs can weigh as much as I do, depending on the size, so it isn't out of the question for it ot be a (nice) TV. Don't ATVs weigh more than 80 pounds? And the play type weigh less than that? I hate ATVs so I'd say sell it either way. They're death traps. Seriously. Especially for kids, and males.

Guess, we won't be inviting your little one over (don't tell hubby, I know he'll be the first one here)

PS  4 yr old was pretending to be on phone (w/ old cell) and he was talking to your son.  Guess we'll have to get those two together soon.

Awww. Jake has asked to come see him twice this week so far. And yeah, DH would be all over the ATV, and thanks to my inlaws, so would the kids. I told you what happened to my cousin's daughter Danielle, right? (she was wearing a helmet, too). Oh, and if my MIL ever lets my kids ride her ATV without helmets again she probably won't be seeing them again until they're 18.

Yeah, I think this thing is going to get hidden in the neighbors garage until it can be sold on KSL.  I don't care how small it may be.  Hey, your hubby's out of town... we could hide it in your garage!

They really are words to live by.  I wish my dad were still around to dole that kind of advice out.  Oh, and I forgot to add never put anything smaller than your fist in your ears or nostrils.

I might have to use my dad's list in my blog tomorrow.  That's some good material .

I was gonna tell Heather that would be ok as long as it is gone by Thursday night and my kids don't catch on to what's under the tarp we cover it with until it's sold, LOL.

I always tell me patients that they're only allowed to put their elbow in their ears. Very few have not tried it on the spot (you know you all are trying it right now!)
