kaqphin - 2008-10-27 8:39 PM So you can catch a train from NYC to Philadelphia/Washington/Richmond right?
Or head north on 95 for a few hours,

They are all only a few hours apart?

yep, although my understanding is that is partially dependent on what type of transportation

hmmm well Im thinking train or car because some of the flights are REALLY expensive...

Ive just spent a constructive morning finding out how much plane flights for my fantasy USA trip would cost...

I havent even tried to work out accommodation yet!

Give me something to aim for...

well.................I'm pretty sure you would find some places to stay for a VERY reasonable cost

haha well whats making it hard is places I originally didnt pick now have cool people there I want to meet...

ie: I wouldnt go to Florida but there are people in Florida... and if Im going that far anyway maybe I should head down to Miami too...

So now my monster trip is getting WAY out of hand and Im going to have to start culling again!

I may have missed it (not sure how on this thread ) but when/where are you planning this big trip?

edit - toppage!

As you guys have seen, I go down to DC a lot and it's a 3.5 hour train ride on the regional. Philly is 1.5 hours. I haven't been to Richmond in years, so not sure the distance. I drive to DC a lot as well, but with the traffic it takes about 5 hours so I like the train, a bottle of wine and a classy styrofoam cup

me thinks at the minimum, we need to go on a train ride together - of course we would need 2 bottles of wine

A back pack, some Vodka and a Nibb to pick me up when I get there perhaps?

Hi Emily!

Hiya!

They're making me do some work tonight.  It's hard to keep up with the chatter when running around the lab like a chicken with my head cut off.

I think I'm going to sit here for a minute and pretend that I'm busy checking data and doing calculations.

Wow!  That's a long list.  But I guess if you're gonna make a dream plan you have to plan big!
