So here's attempt #2, shooting for 6 weeks straight leading up to my first race at the end of June. After that, we'll see where it goes - I'm sure the dog won't object if we keep it going.

Day #5.

Welcome back. 6 weeks will go fast. You will be lucky if you can stop. I feel the farther I get in the streak, the harder it is to think about missing a run.

Ok, I'm back in and today was officially day 10. Last streak made it to 106. My next "A" race will be day 110, so it would be a new streak record to hopefully go along with a new Half Mary PR. (Same event for which my current PR was achieved).

I've got a few vacations planned over the summer, so I may have a few late night/early am runs to keep the streak alive, but I'm in.

Thanks for the welcome back. Most of my runs are going to be around 5am with the dog - I'm so not a morning person, so the risk is an extra hour in bed will outweigh the streak. I hope if I can make through the first 10 days or so, then I'll have the momentum to keep at it.

Day 11 = 7.6 miles (split out as two separate runs)

1.6 miles = round trip of office to pool for swim set.
6 mile interval session on home treadmill.

My new Garmin 910XT arrived yesterday so today was my first day playing with it. This is my second 910, which replaces my previous unit that currently resides at the bottom of Tempe Town Lake thanks to a massive quick-release fail error. I only had that one for about a month before losing it. Oh, and the official length of time I had to wait to replace it without my wife going "postal on me" turned out to be 6 months + a new Coach purse for her.

3 miles on the treadmill for #48. Getting a little concerned about my right knee. Hope to work through it.

I was HOWLING this morning when I read this.  Too funny!  I have been so paranoid about losing my 910 and have wondered how many people end up buying it twice (or more?). Of course once you have one and personally have experienced its greatness you would have to replace it, but there would be a delicate spousal window waiting period (unless they were also a triathlete, and even then...) I really, really want you to start a thread with this, as it is too good a gem to be buried in this thread.

I am curious how this happened, I have the quick release for the 910 and mine snaps in solidly. You really have to twist it hard to get it to release.

Thanks, Switch! It wasn't the best run for me this morning. Too many hills. I was about 30 sec slower than 2 weeks ago. Hamstrings just felt dead on the hills. It was a personal record for me on the particular course, so I can't be too unhappy. That was #50!

PRs are totally course specific!  Don't you spend one second feeling anything but pumped about your accomplishment today--both the course PR and #50.  Sweet :)

Day 549, 7.5 mile tempo run. It was a good run today, I ran the fastest pace I have been able to do at this distance to date. All this hard work I have been putting in starting to pay off.
