So I'm back. I decided since it was too late to run that I'd do some walking. I had on nice comfy flats so I walked across town from Madison Ave across Central Park South to the West side, then caught a train to a stop about 15 minutes from my place so I could walk some more. I got in 35 minutes.

a point for you!

Hi Kristin!

Hello!

This challenge is making me feel like I have to do something every day, even though we can take a day off. But that's kind of a good thing. Plus my legs got stiff again from sitting all day so a walk felt nice. I'll try a jog tomorrow.

I'm enjoying a nice bottle serving of wine now

TOPPAGE! (Are ya happy, Beth? )

I think I'm ready to officially start my apartment search. I'm a little ashamed to admit this, but I'm kind of scared to move. I've been here 10.5 years, but I've never lived alone and I've always lived in the West Village. So not only am I getting my first solo place, but I'm moving to Brooklyn. It's just a lot of life changes all at once. I'll probably live on BT 24/7 for the first couple months.

Nothing wrong with that... I LOVED living on my own once I got used to the initial quiet and a brand new change is like a brand new start... especially when you are moving away from the area you are used to!

It takes a little while to settle into a new place but then a few months down the track yuo will wonder what you were so worried about!

Im thinking my next move will be back into a place by myself - sharing is doing my head in and Im home less and less anyway...

I hope so. I have a few friends in Brooklyn and everyone is being helpful. I guess I always relied on my husband to make it comfortable for me to live here so on one hand, it is exciting to think I can do it on my own, and on the other, I don't really know anything else. I'm looking at some great neighborhoods and it will be cheaper than where I am now, so I'm sure it will all work out once I get past the initial change.

When I left my ex of 6 years and moved to a new city, the very first thing I did was bake cookies (just cut-off-a-roll ones) in my new apartment. It was immediately filled with a new, wonderful, homey smell and it made it welcoming right away.

Yeah coming out of a relationship and then having to re-engage with stuff you left to the other half is a horrible experience some of the time... at least in my experience...

But a move will be good - its a whole new beginning which is sooo exciting!
