Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() the kids have Wed, Thurs, Fri and Mon off next week. typically i would try and work things out so id get some training sessions in at least part of the time. my husband has Fri off so i can probably get something in on that day. and since i have a 4 hr long spin on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, im thinking i might not go 'out of my way' to try and get something in, if it works out then, but.... just hang at home w the kids. i didnt take a whole bunch of time 'off' after my 1/2...so im thinking a few days off wont hurt/do me some good. stacieb |

Champion ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() skrtrnr - 2009-11-20 7:42 AM morning Ghoulies. mornin' ANN. Happy Friday back at ya NEAL. as for the stuffing, two thumbs from my family. we'll see come Thanksgiving Day what the xtended family thinks. i know my sister in law and i do a lot of things 'differently' which....im totally fine w....hope everyone else is too. my kids were jonesin on a street hockey net, the previous one finally bit the dust. my husband finally 'broke down' and bought them one....JUST in time for Thanksgiving Break - that'll keep them occupied & outside for a looooooong time. aw yeah! they love street hockey, theres a whole 'gang' of kids and they play hockey a lot (the one group of three brothers play ice hockey) every year they turn their driveway into a skating rink, its pretty cool. the kids love to skate. after going through some rough going when we first moved here w some kids that werent very friendly, the kids have a finally found a nice bunch to hang w. they're sure to have fun this Thanksgiving/Christmas breaks. stacieb good morning Stacie That skating thing is awesome. I have a SIL that has a basement full of skates. We live in the middle of nowhere and there are ponds all around. Every winter we hope it gets cold enough for a week or so that the ponds freeze and we can skate. Last year we were able to get out a couple of times, which was fun. One year there was a frozen turtle right in the middle of the pond. We were skating at night and you had to watch out for him, a couple of people tripped over him during the hockey game. We had a bonfire on the ice that night, and hot chocolate. It was a lot of fun. As for hunting... if they're going in PA the first day is the Monday after Thanksgiving. The season runs for 2 weeks. |

Thursday is the only day I have off. We are going to my parents Thursday evening, and probably have something with my husbands family on Saturday. Our Y is open for 3 hours Thursday morning so I'm actually considering taking the kids and letting them swim. I'll need to get a 5 mile run in, that's a priority. So maybe a swim and a run. If no swim then a bike and run. We aren't eating until 6 so I'd like to stay active, and have the kids active, too. I might even try to talk my son into biking along with me while I run. |

We have a similar tradition, except its a movie at noon on Thanksgiving since our meal is always at night. And lately it hasn't necessarily been a "holiday" movie, just whatever sounds good at the time. *Thanksgiving movie toppage* Edited by disturbed275 2009-11-20 9:44 AM |

I'll heading to my parents place on Wednesday and staying until Saturday, maybe Sunday. I'm not sure what to do about workouts. No pool access. Not taking the bike and trainer with. I can't run. So I'll probably just eat and get fat. Maybe some yoga and ST. My mom, dad, and sister have been doing P90x again and could do a few workouts with them. That may depend on what the doc says about my hip though. |

Thursday we will be driving to Arizona so I will get my 3 miler and ST in before we go. Friday is my rest day and also happens to be the day we're doing our big dinner which will work nicely. Saturday is an easy 3 miler and Sunday I have a steady 7 miler I plan on doing before we head out back to CA. I think it's a good plan, now I just need to execute it. Wish me luck! |

I WILL eat a pumpkin pie this Thanksgiving, I don't care whose party I have to crash... One Thanksgiving about 5 or 6 years ago nobody brought a pumpkin pie. I think all the pie makers assumed someone else was going to make it. Needless to say my sister and I were devastated. I think we complained enough though because next year there was at least 5 pumpkin pies. I had a whole one to myself ![]() The same thing happened after we ran out of stuffing one year. Now my mom makes enough to feed a small village. |
