I have a few friends in Brooklyn and everyone is being helpful. I guess I always relied on my husband to make it comfortable for me to live here so on one hand, it is exciting to think I can do it on my own, and on the other, I don't really know anything else. I'm looking at some great neighborhoods and it will be cheaper than where I am now, so I'm sure it will all work out once I get past the initial change. When I left my ex of 6 years and moved to a new city, the very first thing I did was bake cookies (just cut-off-a-roll ones) in my new apartment. It was immediately filled with a new, wonderful, homey smell and it made it welcoming right away. What a great idea. But is everyone else craving cookies now too? |
