haha my mum always says she was lucky - I moved out at 17, my borther at 18 and neither of us went back.

She now lives in a rural area sowe couldnt go back even if we wanted to because we would never be able to get jobs there!

I actually started buying Gerolsteiner water when Levi rode for them.  I guess I can't make fun of all the NASCAR brand loyal fans anymore.

Is Andy Schleck riding le Tour this year?  He was awesome in the '07 giro at the age of 21!!

Not sure about Schleck.... he is definatley one for the future... he has been very quiet this year... just fourth in Liege-Bastogne-Liege I think? I hope he is riding!

Maybe it's the Tour he's trying to get in form for.  I don't think he rode in the Giro this year did he?

haha I have fast fingers... (and in some cases a few sports people at work to talk to... it hasnt come to that yet but you never know!)

Heh... Yeah, I live in a place that is a wee bit college football (american football) crazy.  It's pretty much the only sports topic.  The people to talk cycling, or actual football/soccer to are few and far between.  Although, a few people did ask me to explain bike racing to them last year when they caught me watching it in the break room.  They seemed to lose interest pretty quickly though.

that would have been awesome to see... definatley dont really get that here... I think its because its on Free to Air television... so the idea is to get as many people watching as possible and not scare them off....

I think one of the other sites (Slowtwitch? cyclingnews?) did a really good feature on all of the bikes being ridden?

haha its like that here too... AFL, NRL, Union, Cricket, Swimming, Tennis... even Football come before cycling... Im just lucky I work for the broadcaster...

But there still arent many people I have to talk about the Tour to which is why I bore BT with long winded posts at this time of year

Yeah, the tour really doesn't help with the bike envy. 

Lol - well thats good to know BT has a small group of pretty avid cycling fans I discovered last year... its pretty exciting actually!

I plan on joining the party!  Aaaagghh!  Now ya got me all fired up and it still seems too far away.

I know... I HAVE to get to a news agents and have a look for the magazines... I know the Aussies ones with the Tour coverage has one out today, and one out next Friday...

But maybe some of the European mags have been airfreighted over here... this time of year its worth the cost!
