Off-line tonight...2 of my kids have jazz concerts tonight...I know the question will come up, so son #1 plays piano in the high school jazz band, daughter plays clarinet and piano in the 7th grade jazz band. And incidently, Spokes played guitar in his high school jazz band, a couple best soloist awards...I played alto and soprano sax in my high school band with a couple best soloist awards... Jazz...it's what's for dinner... Umm first clarinet here in jazz band, concert band and orchestra Thats some nice skills you have! Wow, Aren't we the musical group... Trumpet & French Horn in High School and college, now I just sing in church choir. I play B flat clarinet and B flat bass clarinet. I can play some piano. I play guitar like a monster jazz/rock GAWD! I can play pretty good heavy metal drums, and bass guitar as long as I keep most of the lines/phrasing around the root of the chord. Id love to have a piano... I was a decidly average player but loved to use it for composition work! Also did a bit of flute, violin and (this is embrassing) played the recorder for 13 years in various baroque and classical ensembles etc all through high school. I actually owned a VERY expensive set of wooden recorders that my mum now has... no idea why I didnt give it up until I got into the world of work... I LOVE the sound of recorders! Can't be duplicated... LMAO - played well or played by primary school students... and I wonder why I never did something like become a music teacher... the pain and suffering those poor people must go through |
