I think they are adding to it now to beat some other mall in China to regain the "biggest mall in the world" title. I don't really find Calgary that much better than Edmonton. Its just bigger and in ranch country rather than farm country. Haha. Van is cool though. Woooo Van! Funny story: a few years ago, I got to go to Edmonton while hubby was working up there for a few weeks. He was already there, I had never been out of the US before. I guess I seemed nervous because I was selected to go get interrogated in customs. "Do you know anyone in Canada?" Nope. "Why are you here?" To shop at the West Edmonton Mall. "Why?" Because it's the biggest mall in the world. At least that's what the internet site said, and hubby just got a big bonus at work, and I neeed a break from the kids. "So why are you here again?". *blank stare, sweaty palms, can't breathe* "And you don't know anyone in Canada?". *breathe, Amy, breathe*. She eventually sent me to get my luggage from the luggage carousel, and called my hubby for verification while I was gone. When I came back she was doing her best not to laugh (but she could barely talk without laughing...so it wasn't very successful...). "Why didn't you say you're hubby is here in Edmonton waiting for you?". Uh...I thought you meant do I know anyone who lives here, not do I have a ride to the hotel!!! It's pretty funny looking back at it....hubby was very nice and didn't give me much for it. I spent almost a week in the hotel/mall. Yep. Gloriuos Edmonton Mall. LOL. NICE! |

Only until we start talking about drinking and sex. I don't feel so old now, I never watched the Waltons. If people don't talk about drinking and sex, what do they talk about? Good grief, did you have a TV? I watched the Waltons, even here in sheltered ol' Utah. Geesh. We did. My dad had the say in what we watched. If you were younger than him, and in the room you were the remote. I stayed in my room and read a lot. Sounds alot like my house...except dad worked like 3 jobs. So, yeah, we had a little more TV time to ourselves than you did. |

Well hello there!!! Using lots of sunscreen at work today??? I could put my sunglasses on, too. I tried to tone down the brightness a bit, but it is still glowing. Hubby has one of those screens at work too. He said something about being able to work up data and manage spreadsheets better. And wouldn't you know it, his business partner got one shortly after hubby got his...and now they've splurged and bought their employees each one as well. |

ETA: I haven't left the states since then. LOL. Haha. Oh going into other countries. Gotta love passport control and customs agents. A couple years ago I was flying through Frankfurt back to the US. It had been a long trip and I just wanted to get home. The second security check (mandated on US carriers) was especially memorable. Now Frankfurt is typically slow going through security under normal conditions. Unbeknownst to me at the time, there had been a bomb threat at Ramstein AFB so they were on higher than normal alert. The agent not only did the typical *let me feel your bewbies* pat-down, but went so far as to put her hand down the inside of the waist band of my jeans. I swear I have had carnal relations with less touching than that security agent. The guy traveling with me was laughing his a$$ off. If I had been outbound I would have complained, but I just really wanted to get home. |
