Subject: RE: Razorxp Group Is CLOSEDKC- a running coach I worked with said he liked to try to go for an hour on a run without hydrating. Obviously, it the becomes a question of what an hour means for you. I've followed that rule and it has worked out pretty well for me. This would also depend upon how well you hydrate in general. It's entirely possible that you might have a run that will only last about 45 minutes that you might want to bring something on simply because you may not have stayed on top of your water intake. My 8K on Sunday is a perfect example. About 10 minutes in, I knew I hadn't hydrated enough. If it were a 10K or something longer, I would have stopped at the aid stations for water. As it was so hot (on relative terms), I did grab a cup of water and douse myself with it but decided to wait to drink something until the end. And that's when the gods of beer and running smiled down upon me. I was putting my compression sleeves on after picking up my stuff from gear check and lo! I found an errant beer ticket laying on the ground! Such fortune! |
