I love the Eddie Vedder version of that song, but the original singer/songwriter is Jerry Hannan. Have you heard him sing it--it's really good too, but I like folk music a lot. Is Vedder's whole album good? His voice is quite fetching. I haven't seen the movie, but Krakauer's book (all of his books) is excellent, and Sean Penn, well, is Sean Penn, and I think he is the real effing deal. Love him. |

| 1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? # 235 9 mile run, had to cut short due to thunderstorms, finished up with 45 minutes on trainer. My daughters were out (4 and 6) and set up an aid station for me, complete with water and high-fives. I definitely over-hydrated, had some serious sloshing going on for the last 2 miles or so. Also did 3500 yd swim about 30 minutes before my run. 9 hours of training between yesterday and today, feeling pretty beat up. 3 and a half weeks to taper... | |

| 1053 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #236 8.16 miles. Besides the first mile I averaged in the 7:10s to 7:20s, last two miles at 7:08 then 6:56. Not sure where I pulled this run out of. I figured as long as I felt good I'd keep picking up the pace. After the 2 previous days of heavy volume, and a solid swim this afternoon, I never saw it coming. Guess it was just one of those days. |

Jeez, and it's only June 14. #6, 3 Exhilarating quick zip out after cooking pizza for a bunch of kids--a storm coming, rain pelting, wind howling and with both inky black clouds and an orange marmalade sunset. Finished hard (don't you just love kicking it sometimes?), and enjoyed a bowl of hand cranked vanilla bean ice cream with strawberries and mulberries from the farm. I love summer. | |

Switch, hand cranked ice cream, I have not had it in years. I may have to dig out my old ice cream maker for after my 30 miler Sunday, it'll be chocolate for me though with some strawberries in it. |

Could that be adjusted? -- #7, 2.8 off the bike -- I spent a good five minutes looking for us, btw. Then it finally dawned on me that we got booted to challenges. Slow on the uptake, party of one. |
