Champion 16743 Somewhere I can be nekidd | Subject: RE: Ghoulie eliptical v ST November challenge kcarroll - 2009-11-23 1:25 PM Greetings Ghoulies! Just a quick fly by and will catch up tonight. Had lots of fun in Philly this weekend. Big get together Saturday night for pasta and chatty catch up. My friends all met their goals on the half...ranged from 1:50 to 2:25 and PRs for several. My two first time marathoners finished in 4:01 and 4:04. There were some uber fast runners at the race. The men's marathon winner finished in 2:17 and qualified for the Olympic trials. I sucked it up and did the 8k very slowly at 0:54 but the knee did fine. It was really hard not to jump in that last corral and walk the darn thing if necessary. But I'm glad I didn't. It is stiff today but hopefully that will loosen up. Post race had a terrific brunch and shopped a bit, then took out of towners to the airport and drove home. Slept like a baby last night. Will chat more tonight. Great job Kim! It may have been hard to go slow, but you did it! You completed the race! WOOHOO!!! |

I'm game for anything though so just let me know. Stacie - I feel your pain. I went to Japan a few years ago for 10 days and I got the same grief from my In-Laws. I was going to see my sister and her family, who I hadn't seen in over a year and they just went on and on about how my place was at home. I went, had a great time, came home and the house was still in one piece and the younglings weren't dirty or hungry, so it's all good. Last summer we didn't go on vacation with his family. We were meeting my sister and her family in FL at Mickey's house. I kept threatening my husband if he ruined the Mickey Mojo he was walking home. He sees his family almost every day, I see my sister once a year, and it's a major production because I have to leave the road to see her. Fortunatley now they live in MD, at least for the time being, so I don't have to get on a plane to see them. IM READY, how bout you BILL???? get a packing. and ahhh yes the your place is at home speech. got that one too. from jims mom, aunt, uncle, cousins, brothers, sister in laws....etc et al. i (you) went. shows how well i (we) listen, huh? can we all say, ROAD TRIP!!!!!! stacieb Let me know where we are meeting and if we have room for 1 or 2 bikes each! Road and Mountain but I am only bringing the mountain if room for 1! id say theres room for as many bikes as you want!!!! bring em all! im buying/bringing me a kayak. AND my road bike and...... stacieb You get the kayak, I'm going to get a canoe. I'll bring my road bike, but I want to get a nicer one. I'll get a mountain bike, too, while we're there. Other than flying over on the way to CA I've never been there so someone tell me where the meeting spot is. Cool on the Kayaks - I will get a tandem so we can go out together at times! I say we meet on the Ohio Turnpike since you guys are close to there anyways! That or the Chick-Fil-A in Erie I think the Ohio Turnpike would be the easiest for both of us. |

BTW - Good Morning Ghoulies Welcome back! Hope you had a fantastic time!!! Without Jules here we have to fill all 100 pages by ourselves All I will say is that if I were single I would not have come back I'm happy to hear you had a great time, but we would have missed you if you hadn't come back. Thanks Ann - I would have had an annual Ghoulie Bash at Yosemite though - we could swim, run, ride, hike, and eat for 1 week - that would be awesome! Sign me up for sure. I'll bring the guacamole!!! |

BTW - Good Morning Ghoulies Good morning and WELCOME BACK Bill! Glad to hear you had a nice trip. Thanks Tom. I know Cali is crazy but you guys have some beautiful country - I hope you spoil yourself and go and see some of them while you are stationed there! The worst thing is that I turned orders down to Le Moyne NAS (Up by Sacramento) back in the day - I would have been living next door to Yosemite - stupid Bill!!!! That would be a great place to be stationed. The closest thing we have to Yosemite right now is either Lemoore NAS in Central CA or Fallon, NV NAS about an hour from Reno. Unfortunately my wife's health is currently making travel very difficult, but if/when she's feeling better Yosemite is definitely on my list of places we NEED to go. I'm really hoping that my next duty station will be Monterey, CA which will put Yosemite, Big Sur, Tahoe, and the Redwoods all within easy reach. |

Just a hair over 8 miles in yesterday. My knee is a little stiff today, not sure, but stiff. I'm not sure what that is all about but I hope it goes away quickly. I'm also looking forward to doing a turkey trot on Thursday morning with my son! WOOHOO!!! I hope that knee clears up for you soon. That Turkey Trot on Thursday sounds fun! Great job so far this month... KIU! TOM!!! How was the weekend? Hi Ann! I had a lot of fun with a clogged sink, dirty living room, and distastrous kids' rooms, but at least I was able ot relax. This week will be nice and busy until I head out for AZ on Thursday morning. How are you??? |

The great thing about Monterey would be that I would be getting my Master's degree while I'm there. Not exactly wure what it would be in yet, but I'm leaning towards Human-Systems Integration or Operations Analysis (i.e. lots of math and statistics. Yay!). It all depends on how things go here in the next couple months. I'll be keeping all of you posted... |

They lived in Marina while they were there. I love the Monterey, Carmel area. When I was out to visit them last summer I flew over wildfires that were burning in CA. We also drove past a few, including one that was right along the side of the road. It looked like it had just started, and they closed the road not long after we got through. I think only a few acres were burned. When we were sitting in the living room one evening we could smell the smoke from the fires, that was kind of eerie. |

Alpine flower bowls in July to Ski slopes and groomed cross country trails al winter, to the red rock and sand in southern Utah, to the wetland around the Great Salt Lake, and the salt flats in teh west desert. So many things to do and see! Come visit any time! (Did I mention that Ironman is coming back to Utah?) we should ditch them and hook up the THREE of us. course then we'd have to move to UTAH. but UTAH has vistas too right?? LOL. |

Moab has both a fat tire festival and skinny tire festival every spring--go ride your bike(s) on the slickrock. The river runs through the center of town. An there are several gorgeous national parks/monuments there.I can be there in about 5 hours. Kanab rakes me about 9 hours. I'll bring the rum? (gotta have some post-ride fun and "recovery drinks", right?) skrtrnr - 2009-11-23 1:41 PMYou guys sure you're thinking of Kanab? Or Moab? i have no idea where im goin' AMY. all i know is.... ITS NOT HERE. stacieb |
