Whoops! Got it wrong. Maybe 'cause every time I drank Syrah, I was really snockered. (Is that a word also in Oz?)

I keep wanting to buy 2XU stuff too, (oh it rhymes!) but I confess I already have scads of tri gear.

I just love buying tri gear. I'm like a walking billboard for 2XU, only in a drunken crappy triathlete sort of way. I'm always happy to share my product experiences!

OMG you are so funny. That's sig line material right there. I'm going to see if I can't squeeze it in somewhere.

ED: Ooh, I gots the tops!

Hey phil,

How much time on average (during peak training days/weeks) would you say you put into each sport to get ready for IM Moo?

Each sport?  Dunno.  I have only completed one IM and didn't formulize or use a plan - I winged a lot of training.  I know that my peak was a 20 hour week about 4 weeks or so out, then ya taper.

It depends, too, on what needs improving.  Mine would be the swim, so I will focus a little more this year on that.  Most of the time will be biking - peak time will be based off how long it takes to complete the century ride.

I love the physical training, but there is more than that - there's a BALANCE of everything else, like sleep, social time, nutrition.

My hat goes off to anyone that can manage their life in such a way to fit in IM training. 20 hours a week, holy crap!!!

Yes well those of us lacking in lives choose to do Ironmans (speaking only for myself, of course). I'm looking forward to the distraction.

Are you doing an Ironman soon?

Ironman Wisconsin, Sept 09, same as Philthy. That's how we met, we were all jockstrapping so we could sign up in person. We worked a volunteer shift together and the rest is history

Ah ha! I didn't realise you knew eachother in real life

Good luck with IM!!!!

Yeah, lucky me Phil likes to give me crap, but deep down he likes me

LazyMarathoner - 2008-11-07 1:26 PM Ladies, I just stopped at the friendly neighborhood wine shop and as I approached, I noticed a fire truck out front. My first thought was "sweet jesus, the place better not be on fire because I need a drink." Then I go in and while I'm waiting to pay, 3 gorgeous firemen came in to find out about shutting off the water. Is it a required to be hot to join the fire department? So I got a nice serving of eye candy to go with my wine

Maybe its just that men look hotter in uniform... you should get them out of their uniforms and then pass judgement...

hehe! nice one Cat!

Yeah, I have a weakness for the uniform for sure. Too bad they all sound dumb when they talk too. Most have strong outer borough accents. But who said anything about talking

LOL talking is not required!!!

So I'm back. I decided since it was too late to run that I'd do some walking. I had on nice comfy flats so I walked across town from Madison Ave across Central Park South to the West side, then caught a train to a stop about 15 minutes from my place so I could walk some more. I got in 35 minutes.

Yay I love the fact that I know exactly what you're talking about because I"VE BEEN THERE! I *heart* NY LOL

Then I need to go to my other team (Peaches) but they've only done 12 pages this month so thats nothing compared to this thread. And then I need to read that marathon RR ...

AND THEN it'll be the weekend, I won't go on the computer for 3 days, I'll come back to work on Tues and there'll be another 100 pages for me to work through. SIGH!!! LOL

I have to say, reading posts at work is good for me because I am so busy reading and typing that I don't SNACK! Yay to me

My deepest sympathy to those who are not able to access Pop Tarts or their favorite ones.

Kristin - how are you feeling? ready for tomorrow?

I'm feeling a little physically run down, but mentally in a good place. I wrote my blog about it today, it's actually a little strange to be so calm the day before a race and I'm not sure why. I'm just finishing my pre-race dinner - and you'll love this, I mixed up a Gatorade Endurance with some tonic since I can't drink!!!! I've been packing up my bag for pre and post race, have to figure out the clothes I want to wear to throw away. Then I think I'll soak in the tub and watch a movie and hope I can sleep later. I'm a little worried about my body letting me down, but excited about the race.

Belated good luck! I hope you went well!

Thank you so much! If you're up for the war & peace length race report, check it out. It was a very special day for me!

You want lengthy, check out my IM Moo '06 RR.  Scoobysdad has some REALLY (serious) great RRs, too!  They're always entertaining.

OK, I will!
