I have a friend who is trying to hook me up with a job in New Jersey as a Systems Administrator, which is what I want to do. The beauty of it is... I CAN WORK FROM HOME!

More money+job I want to do+less travel=HAPPY ANN

AND...

If I get this job we will also be getting a Great Dane puppy. My niece bred her Great Dane and they have 2 week old puppies. Cross your fingers and toes everyone!

Oh wow, Ann!  That sounds great!  Definitely sending you good job vibes!!

More good vibes coming your way from San Diego! Another cool thing about this new gig would be that if you DID have to travel to HQ, I know a certain hellian in New Jersey who I'm sure would have no problem showing you around...

Oh, and hi Dee!!!

Innocent

I'm not sure where in NJ, but my resume is in the hands of the contracting company that does the hiring. It was delivered with a recommendation to one of the hiring managers.

Well, if you find out what town they're in I can do a drive-by with a big sign that says:

HIRE ANN or you're gonna regret it (that's how things get done around here)

I'll see what I can find out. Maybe you could drop Big Louie and Guido off to have a talk with them.

Plenty of those guys around!  I'll make sure they negotiate your pay as well.

SWEET!

What's going on in your neck of the woods?

Mild training   --   Steady but slightly slow work   --   Busy rest of life (helping hubby with car show details, training puppy, etc.)

Also I am losing weight!  Overall I have lost 9 - 10 pounds since the first of the year.  Double if you count the pounds I gained on vacations and then lost again!  Hubby has lost about 20 - 25 pounds.  We are both just over 1/2 way to our goals.

Yeah for weight loss!!!! I read this weekend that your run pace will increase 2 sec per  mile for every pound you lose.  Plus, it helps getting into the skinny jeans.

I have been reading a book by Matt Fitzgerald called "Racing Weight. Good reading. He talks about what your ideal weight should be, and the body build you have/should have depending on which endurance sport you do. Theres even some recipes in the end opf the book. (I;ll let you kno wif they're any good once I get there). As o now, I am down all of 0.2 pounds! LOL, more to come I hope.

So you disappear for how many weeks then you just jump right in here into the middle of the converstation without so much as a hi my brotha's and sista's?

Just donned the white jacket...

How nice will it be to don the white long coat in the hospital? sigh* (At my school when we are clerks we wear short, white coats...everyone knows who we are...It makes me feel like a duckling)

Okay...last random comment for awhile..

Ahhh, but you are rocking the short jacket with makeup today.  They are all saying, who is the smokin' hot PAM in that short, white coat??

Took the white coat off now...haha...So now I bet they are looking at my sweet tanlines from Sat.

And no one is around me right now...lol...I'm sitting in a lab...no one is going to see me haha.

If only some hot man would come and visit...

Will, if curling makes the cut then I think this should be a slam dunk (with apologies to our Canadian PAM) Although I would petition for the summer games.  Much nicer to set course records in the bathing suit next to the pool or ocean.

Just as I thought I was going to have some time on BT my granddaughter woke up.  LOL  The baby is still sleeping and the older two are watching Garfield the movie.  Will be taking the older boys to the pool this afternoon with the neighbor boy who is in between these two in age.  I think my arms will be getting more of a strength workout at the pool than at the gym today.  LOL

I've been there. I've had days where playing with my kids in the pool was harder than any lap workout I'd ever done.

So...

The bad news is: my project isn't turning out like it should be turning out. The good news is: I think my supervisor feels bad for me because stuff beyond my control keeps happening and I'm getting increasingly frustrated...He told me I have a 4 day weekend. Woohoo (Its Canada Day anyways on Thurs...but I get Fri off too!) YAH!

Now...what to do, what to do??? Undecided

Ideas? (I cannot be left to my own devices...and I'm alone...Apparently I did not think through my lack of social excursions in the past 8 weeks...what can you do alone for 4 days...read?...a lot?)

Had dinner with some friends tonight and they are trying to convince me to do this race.  Must admit, I am tempted although it's awfully close to MCM to be running an obstacle course.  Hmmmmmm.  I like that the last two are the 'warrior roast' (leaping over fire) and the 'muddy mayhem' (slithering thru mud under barbed wire).

Yeah, it's not the mileage but the possibility of twisting an ankle or some other dumb injury.  I may just go ahead and register then see how things play out.

First of all, sorry the project is being difficult. Wait until you have human patients.  They are worse than rats.

A 4 day weekend???? Yeah!!!!  I'm always good for a hunker down book/movie/paint the toenails marathon, but it is summer after all.  And 4 days is a long time to sit solo. You're in Victoria BC right now, correct?  How about some sea kayaking? hiking? You might even meet some interesting peeps along the way.

Thanks. I'm getting really good at microsurgery but science is unfortunately not about that...I guess it is good that I have chosen medicine and not science. I will not be an MD/PhD.

I'm currently debating between going to Vancouver, Seattle...back home...somewhere..I don't know...hmmmmm...I'm prob going to end up doing nothing...Undecided
