Speaking of post padding, I do not like the lack-o-Slugger on the weekends. If we take out a bottle of Vanilla Vodka, do you think she'll show up? Oooh, or that'll work, too!!! Yum! |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) Fav Cocktails: Madras - cranberry juice, orange juice, vodka (various flavors, though I'm big into making them with a combo of peach and vanilla vodkas) Irish Car Bomb - hooooooooly yum!!!! What a way to start off a good night! Vanilla Coke - yes, yes, more vanilla vodka! Also a good way to start off a night, as the caffeine helps cancel out the sleepiness of the alcohol. Right now I'm in to asking the bartender to make me something fruity. If they ask, I'll specify with rum or vodka, but I like them to go to town. Had some really yummy ones that way, some not so good. But now I am sad, because I don't really get to go out for drinks. Working third shift stinks that way, though I'm drinking far less than I would otherwise! I just can't bring myself to make yummy drinks in the morning, and I can't drink before work. |

Though it is often served mixed, some variants "float" the beer atop the cider in separate layers. The snake bites that I've drunk have been a 50:50 beer/cider mix PLUS grenadine to make them red. You can even write "S" in the beer foam with the grenadine. I love snake bites but they get me drunk SO quickly! Aaaah - when I was north of NYC for work the boys tried making those and served them up to me... I wonder if they were trying to get me drunk... |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) So, I had quite the fun weekend. I went camping with my BFF and her kiddos. Had high whine potential (the kids love camping, but are perpetual whiners), but it turned out great. Well, maybe "great" takes some explanation... So, we had an awesome Friday. BFF had a doc appt, I had a doc appt, we made both on time, got everything done, packed up, got the kid from the bus stop on time, everything went super-smooth. Shoulda been a clue, huh? We borrowed BFF's parent's truck. DOOD! I know why people think they need those things for camping! It was AWESOME to chuck everything in the back, only filling half the bed, and have plenty of room for everyone up front! Living in luxury, it was! Shoulda been a clue, huh? So we had to drive to Concord to drop off BFF's mom's car, as she was coming in to the bus stop and needed her car to get home. Done, and we set off for the campground right smack on time, if not a tad early. Everything going so smoothly, so brilliantly! Shoulda been a clue, huh? Back on the interstate, when *sniff.* *sniff sniff sniff* "Umm, BFF?" "Yeah, I smell it, too." "I think it's us." "No, it's the dude in front of us...?" "Um, I think I should pull off." "Um, yeah, maybe." I get to the next exit (ONE exit up from where we'd dropped the car!) and pull off. And smoke is POURING out of the front right tire, brakes nearly on fire. Thank goodness we find a gas station with a service station. At 4:50 on a Friday evening. Oh, but wait, THIS service station is open until 9:00!!! We're saved!!! Um, no, they are absolutely slammed, can't get to it until Monday. After attempting to hitch rides back to BFF's mom's car, we finally call a cab and get back there. Remember, there are two small munchkins in tow during all of this! We drive the PRIUS back to the truck, and manage to cram all of the essentials into the hybrid. Oh, but wait, we HAVE DINNER FOR THE GROUP WITH US! Many quick phones calls, turns out their days aren't going so well either, no biggie about missing dinner, we're all doing drive thrus. We finally make it up to camp, and are getting settled when the rest of the crew arrives. From a day that went perfectly to a day that, um, could have gone better! We settled in for a cold night and drifted off to what sleep we could get. Woke up the next morning to...a phone call from BFF's mom. Remember her? She's supposed to have her car. That we now have. She had said she would stay in Mass overnight. No, turns out she will be in Concord in an hour. Which is 45 minutes away. So BFF packs up the kids and leaves me in camp. That was awesome because I got some quiet time, but everyone missed the hike. However, when they got back, we decided to bag the hike and go for a swim!!! The pond was, um, frigid. I think there were icebergs floating. I swam out to the floating dock and back, and by the time I turned to come back, my arms were seizing from the cold. Smart me, I did that three more times! Fortunately, no Reynaud's attack, but it was COOOOOOOOLD!!!! The rest of the evening went really well, had much fun telling stories around the campfire, then had a leisurely breakfast and pack out the next day. Aaaahhh, fun. Oh yeah, back to Concord tonight to pick up the truck. Hopefully sans smoking brakes. Good thing that isn't on OUR bill! LOL! |

However, I will attempt to find my tri pics, which do have a certain level of showiness to them. Can't promise your computer screens won't burn off, though... |

Master 2665 The Whites, New Hampshire | Subject: RE: Whips, Cattle Prods & Tiaras (Four-Is-More Challenge) This one is from way, way back - mila, all I have is a mountain bike, so no indoor trainer for me. And no access to a pool, so the pond was my last swim of the season. Now it is running, running, running until it is snowshoeing, snowshoeing, snowshoeing. My brother says he can get a Wii for half price (nice to have friends at all the major "toy factories"!!), so I'm hoping to get that for Christmas and use it to stay in some minimal amount of shape when I can't get out. |
